agreed. I like the content of the reviews, but the scoring seems way to high.

I agree. Games rated 8-9 should be reserved for exceptional games only. 10 obviously would be a perfect score for a perfect game which usually (if we are lucky) comes out once or twice a year. The good games should fall between 6-7, average games 5-6 and bad games anywhere from 0-5...

Buzzman, you weren't kidding. Chapter 5 of Metro 2033 is where it really picks up. The Library is friggin' awesome!

Yea, did you run and gun or stealth your way through the game so far? If you did, you'll actually get the ending I liked better.

I also am going to try a different scoring system and see if that works out for the better. I do agree that some of the scores a bit high, especially the early ones when I first started. I read some of the early reviews and realize how short and dumb they sounded compared to the latter reviews. If I were to re-review some of these games they would score lower ala MW2, Socom, Pure, Battlefield. I did think Dante Inferno's a 9 though, but that's because that was the first dive into that genre. I never played God of War or Devil May Cry series, so maybe if I played those first I wouldn't like it as much.

Also with the new scoring setting, I wont review a game that has heavy multiplayer appeal until at least a month of playing it. Bad Company 2 and Socom are games that lost their appeal quickly but I had already reviewed them so that lost appeal didn't factor into the score. Even MW2, while still a great game, wouldn't get that perfect 10 I gave it.

Lets see how it works out and tell me what you think when I post the first one.

Yeah, pretty much. Every time I try the stealth route I get seen or heard so I just start blasting away.

you should play MGS 1, 2 and 3 then replay 4

I have the Essential collection, will get to them one some point. I will say this though, unless it helps me understand 4 A LOT more (cause I understood a lot of it but some stuff was confusing), 4 would be a low score for me.

In will be hard to for 4 to be good in your eyes because you've already played it, and all lot of the great moments will not be surprise more of already seen it. You ruined your own experience...

Here's the problem I had with 4. Not only were some of the cutscenes overplayed (coming from someone who loves them, but some of them were stupid. The the actual gameplay and bosses were extremely repetitive. Maybe playing 1-3 will make me appreciate it more and when I replay it will catch the little things that referenced the old games.

                          I forgot you gave MW2 a 10. That game is a 7, 7.5 tops.

                            game was easily a 10

you were expecting a longer single player yet there's no code a game "has" to be at least 20 hours to get a 10.

I still pick it up and play randomly, still amazing. I dont get how its the only game people play but its a great game none the less.

I definitely never said that nor do I think it. I think 6-12 hours is sually pretty comparable depending on the game. 4 hours for a campaign, especially in a gme as hyped as MW2, is completely inexcusable.

i was okay with it, but then again i didnt want some big experience

i saw the single player as little more than an expansive tutorial, in preparation for the multiplayer.
