    Speed backs vs Power backs

For those of you that have the game, have you noticed a difference, or do you have a preference for which type of running back to use?

I see people who heavily value speed in Madden to obviously not be too sim. but thats a different topic.

as far as Speed Kills...hows that been working out for the Raiders the past...20 years or so...not good...speed kills a stupid overused statement.

Don't bother trying to run with the Packers their offensive line doesn't open up anything.

lol let's all gang up on a guy because he prefers a speed back in madden...

p.s. speed has killed in the past maddens and it will continue to this year.

Speed kills on a real football field, but it can be contained, Oakland raiders are proof, they can score, and they score on alot of big plays, but with shitty game planning and low skill players they don't win many games.

Can you be a patient runner in Madden? Is it worth it to wait for your blocks to develop when they probably never will because of poor run block logic? Or am I going to be forced to sprint before I have to because some backside end is in the backfield as soon as the hand off is received?

Noticed this a lot in the demo.

Good question. I had the same issue with the Steelers demo. As soon as handed off I was getting mugged.

i dunno i havent noticed that in the demo, i've had a pretty decent time running the ball. No problem finding holes with Parker or Wells, yeah run gets stuffed sometimes but overall i usually end up with 11 or 12 carries avg about 4 and a half ypc

So what about a team like Seattle who doesn't have any good running backs... Will Hasselbeck's speed kill?
                    I give rep not thanks

In NCAA 10, power backs are better

i haven't gotten madden 10 yet, but usually i choose the speed backs. on those long runs, the power backs suck

I think you can be successful with both types of running backs. I was using the Chiefs(before and after i made the roster changes to affect my OF trades), and i found that Larry Johnson could hit the hole quickly, but also break tackles.

When using Tashard Choice, i was able to still break tackles, but bouncing outside was easier. I liked running with both guys.
