Top 5 things you need to know before playin Madden Friday...

#1 - Take the sack!!! You know how in years past when you get hit but you're able to get the pass of anyway and it doesn't go far and the ball is tipped all over the place and eventually falls to the ground? Well....this year you can pick it and take for an easy 6.

#2 - If you don't have a good QB...stick to the short passing game. I noticed the other day that there are ratings for short passing accuracy, medium and deep. Brady Quinn has better ratings on short and medium passing ratings but Anderson has him on the deep. I'm not sure of what Orton's is but I just got finished playin my bro and Orton threw a couple of picks...all on deep balls.

#3 - It's harder to hit stick this year (at least for me). I only get a few each game but you know you got it when the screen shakes.

#4 - DE will pick the ball of with one hand like they are a starting WR...be careful with the quick passes to the flats.

#5 - If you don't have a 90+ speed RB/WR running the wildcat/flash package, don't even bother running it. You can't make subs or route any players either. Out of the various playbooks I've used so far, the only formation I was able to motion a player in was in one of the Browns flash formation.

...I haven't read any other the previews written on any site so if some of this has been covered already....my apologies.

Some people are hard headed and wont listen, but taking a sack here or there will save u from throwing alot of picks

      1. My first ever game Eric Foster (Colts DT) picked off Phillip Rivers for the pick 6
      2. Deep passes only work 25% of the time with a GOOD QB
      3. I have no problem hit sticking
      4. Don't see that
      5. Wildcat is fun as hell to run

      6. Make sure to raise your run blocking sliders, it is absolutely terrible this year

Nah dawg...defense ends will pick you sh*t with the quickness. I run DE contain a few times a game and I've gotten a few picks doing that and have seen it happen...especially when runnin different nickel packages where the LB is at the DE spot.

There are know packages this year (unless I missed something in the playcalling screen) you can make individual subs in any formation except for those that I mentioned. The only way to change who lines up in the wildcat/flash is to pause the game and go into the depth chart.

For instance...in the flash package...the #3 WR is in the QB position. If you want your fastest WR to run it, then you have to go in the depth chart and make the change.

            Very good points.

I think you forgot one though. Watch how much you use the LS when passing, especially with low rated QB's. The ball with be overthrown or will be a horrible pass.

I noticed this in the 5 min demo, its going to be hard for me to ease up on the left stick

Does turning down the interceptions slider help at all with D-lineman becoming receivers?

                      Good tips.

Tip #2 all but confirms that Jeff Garcia will get the nod at QB for me. What's the point of Russell's 97 THP if every ball he throws, especially over 20+, is going to be wildly inaccurate?

I prefer Garcia anyway, really, but I like to imitate the real life Raiders so it's tough.

                        You dumbass.

Put on your Al Davis thinking cap.

You draft the fastest mother fuckers you can find no matter where you land in the draft, then you get that fatass 97 THP to throw 100 yard strikes to your world class speed.

Raiders football 101. The fuck kind of fan are you?

                        :2thumbs:

Well maybe it's just me...the Browns D sucks so maybe most of the defensive players can't hit stick. LOL

Guess I gotta work on it and get my timing down better.

Nah hit stick is definitely harder this year. It has to be lined up perfectly or else a good player is just gonna break through it.
