Coach krul & His Lions Bring A Little Northern Hospitality Down South

Traveling to Tampa for the first time this year, the Lions would play the Buccaneers on another throwback day as the Bucs would sport their old school orange jerseys. This would also be the first time krul would meet BigBucs.

Tampa Bay would start off red hot scoring a field goal on their first drive before forcing a fumble on the Lions next drive to recover it and score a touchdown off of it. 10-0 Bucs in the 1st. Detroit would have another quick 3 and out drive before everything would change.

Josh Freeman and his Bucs offense would move down the field into scoring range again, this time, Lions rookie safety Louis Delmas would pick off a pass with a little over 2 minutes remaining in the game. Stafford would then proceed to move his team down the field with relative ease, scoring quickly 10-7. Next series for Tampa with under two minutes left, Larry Foote would come up with a pick. With 10 seconds left in the half Detroit would score another touchdown to take the lead 14-10.

Lions would receive the ball to start the 2nd half...as Phillip Buchanon would take back his first kick return of the season for another touchdown. 21-10. Detroit's defense would force a 3 and out, leading to another touchdown pass by Matthew Stafford. 28 unanswered points as the Lions now lead 28-10.

Tampa would finally score again on their next drive, breaking the streak of 28 straight Detroit points. Don't get too excited though Bucs fans as Detroit would come out on the very next drive and on a first play Stafford would fake to the halfback and launch it to a wideopen Calvin Johnson for a 1 play touchdown! 35-17!

Freeman would throw his 3rd pick of the game on the next drive as the 3rd quarter came to an end with the Lions in scoring distance once more. Couple of plays later into the 4th and Kevin Smith would score on a 1 yard rushing touchdown, making it 42-17 Detroit with around 3 minutes left in the game.

As if things weren't bad enough for the Bucs, they would fumble on the ensuing kickoff return as the Lions would scoop it up for ANOTHER touchdown! 49-17 Detroit! Coach BigBucs must be regretting using the old school jerseys now.

The Bucs would score one last time before the end of the game making the score look a little more rescpectable as the Lions dominate Tampa Bay for the final score of 49-24. Good Game BB.

Krul, you should put the score of the game at the top of the story in boldface type.
Your report makes it difficult to figure out what the damn score is.

Rookie Stafford 13/14 (13 Straight Completions) In Lions Win Over G-Men

            Box Score
            - 7 - 7 - 3 - 10 - 27
            - 0 - 7 - 0 - 3 - 10

Albidnis' New York Giants would travel up to Ford Field in Detroit to face krul's Lions for the first time ever.

Detroit would receive the ball first at their own 24 yard line. What a beautiful drive it would be as the Lions would consistently move down the field for a 10 play, 71 yard, 4:27 drive. Stafford would fake a run to Kevin Smith on 3rd and 4 and throw a strike to Dennis Northcutt who would make a fantastic catch in double coverage falling backwards into the endzone for a 35 yard touchdown! 7-0 Lions.

Eli Manning and his Giants would strike right back though with a nice drive of their own as Brandon Jacobs would make his presence felt with a 24 yard rushing touchdown of his own with a little over 2 minutes remaining in the half. 7-7.

Another beautiful drive by Matthew Stafford as he would throw a 8 yard touchdown pass to Kevin Smith out of the backfield capping off a 9 play, 73 yard, 2:00 drive. Here's a interesting stat...Matthew Stafford has thrown 11 straight completions going into halftime. Can he keep it up in the 2nd half? 14-7 Detroit.

The G-Men would receive the ball at the start of the 2nd half, but the Lions defense would force them to a 3 and out, as New York would punt back to the Lions red hot offense. Starting from their own 30, Stafford would lead his offense back out onto the field looking to keep his 11 consecutive completions going. After gaining 4 yards on the ground, Stafford would go deep to Maurice Morris for a completion of 36 yards! 2 plays later....quick screen to Calvin for 13 straight completions. Finally on 3rd and 15, Stafford would go deep to Calvin who owuld just miss the reception for Stafford's first incompletion of the game! Hanson would then boot a 47 yard field goal through to give Detroit a two possession lead. 17-7 Lions.

Eli would move down the field slowly, picking up a few key 3rd and long plays. Until finally being stopped and forced to kick a 40 yard field goal to bring the Giants within 10. 17-10. That is...until Phillip Buchanon would run back a 97 yard kick return untouched right after to put the Lions up by 2 touchdowns with 2:44 left in the game! 24-10 Detroit.

Needing big plays fast, Eli would try and go to deep to his WR, but get picked off by Lamarcus Hicks. Giving the Lions the ball back at the Giants 40 as the game was well in hand now. After running it 3 straight plays, Hanson would boot through a 55 yard field goal to give the Lions a 3 possession lead now with under 2 minutes remaining. 27-10 Detroit.

Again on the first play of New York's next possession, another interception, this time by Keith Smith who would fall to the ground immediately as the Lions would just kneel the ball from here on out to win the game 27-10. Good Game Albidnis.

              Albidnis clearly wasn't All Business.

Losing like that with the Giants vs. the Lions is kinda sad.

              :D

Sidenote: Headline goes under the pic, btw, Krul.

The more posts and views you get, the better.

                      Ratings matter baby.

And I look forward to our Saints-Lions game. I am thinking we should do a thread where we run regular seasons (me Eagles, you Lions) where we play the opposition with their playbooks.

                      That would be kinda cool.

David Holds Goliath To 77 Yards Total Offense

                        Box Score
                        - 0 - 10 - 0 - 0 - 10
                        - 0 - 0 - 3 - 0 - 3

JTC's Patriots would take on krul's Lions in what would really be the best vs. the worst as Coach krul would win the coin toss and elect to kickoff. His defense would quickly show up stopping Brady and the Pats to a quick 3 and out which could turn out to be a crucial stop already in this matchup as the Lions would have to play their "A" game for 60 minutes if they wanted to have any shot of winning this game.

After getting a first down on their first offensive possession, Detroit would come up just short forcing to punt on a 4th and 1 giving the ball back to New England on their own 43 yard line. Detroit's defense would continue to come up big in the 1st quarter as they would force the Patriots to punt again after 3 downs. The score still 0-0 at the start of the 2nd quarter. This time it would take 5 plays for Matthew Stafford to go 65 yards in a 1:39 capping the drive off with a 13 yard HB screen to Maurice Morris for the touchdown. 7-0 Detroit.

And yet again, the Lions defense would force another 3 and out as the Patriots haven't even converted a first down yet! Detroit's offense would again move down the field, but the Pats defense would finally step up holding them to just a field goal as the teams would head into halftime. 10-0 Lions.

With a two possession lead already, Stafford and his offense would look to continue building their lead as they knew what Tom Brady was capable of. On 2nd and 10, Stafford would get blitzed forcing a bad throw as the former Lions CB Leigh Bodden would come up with the pick right in Lions territory. New Englad would get their first 1st down on 1st and 10 on a slant to Wes Welker for 11 yards. 3 plays later Detroit's defense would hold, forcing a field goal. 10-3 Lions.

Stafford would lead his team down into Patriots territory on a long 10 play drive before making one mistake that would lead to another New England interception. Starting from their own 32 now, Tom Brady would try and take his team down the field and tie the game up. Facing a 4th and 4 on the Lions 38 yard line, Tom Brady would fire a strike to Joey Galloway for a first down to the Lions 23 yard line now with 3:30 and ticking. Brady would make a rare mistake next play as he would try to go for the touchdown to Welker in the middle of the endzone, but rookie safety Louis Delmas would be there to pick him off!

New Englad would have one last chance however as the Lions would be forced to punt right before the two minute warning as the Patriots would get the ball on Detroit's 38 yard line with 1:52 and 2 timeouts remaining. Could Detroit's defense come up with one more big play? Brady would get the ball up to the Lions 15 yard line as the time ticked down...44 seconds...still 2 timeouts remaining. 1st and 10, throws to the corner of the endzone.....incomplete. 2nd and 10, 32 ticks remaining. A screen to Joey Galloway...incomplete. 3rd and 10, 29 secs. Tom Brady would drop back, then fake as if he was scrambling, but then throws to the endzone....INTERCEPTION! Daniel Bullocks would come up with the pick that would close out the game as the Detroit Lions have defeated the New Englad Patriots 10-7! David beats Goliath.

                        Great Game JTC.

Megatron Finally Breaks Out In Lions 4th Win In A Row

Round 3 of the Madden 10 Kickoff Tourney would put krul's Detroit Lions against Dan The Man's...New York Giants? Thought he was a Phins fan by his name...in any case, Detroit would kickoff to start the game.

After converting one 3rd down, Eli would be forced into another 3rd and long, in which he would scramble for 11 yards to the Lions 42, but that wouldn't be enough to attempt a field goal as they'd punt it.

Starting from their 20 yard line after a touchback, Matthew Stafford would lead his offense out onto the field for the first time in the game. 10 plays and 76 yards later, Stafford would dump off a WR Screen to Calvin Johnson for a 23 yard touchdown. 7-0 Lions.

The following drive, Eli would look to tie the game up before halftime as him and his G-Men moved down the field rather quickly using his arm and feet. Until they got to Detroit's 30, when the Lion's defense would step up holding the Giants to a 47 yard field goal with 1:20 left to play before the half. 7-3 Detroit.

Starting from their 31, Stafford would drop back on the very first play and throw a strike to a wide open Maurice Morris who burned his LB for a 69 yard touchdown! 14-3 Lions with a little over a minute still left in the half.

Great field position would lead to a quick 42 yard touchdown pass from Eli to Hixon in double coverage with 40 seconds as it's turned into an AFL game all of a sudden. 14-10 Lions. Guess what.....2 plays on Detroit's next drive...another 66 yard WR screen to Calvin Johnson for a touchdown! 21-10 Detroit heading into halftime!

The Lions would receive the ball at halftime as well having a chance to go up by 3 scores. Looking like a natural, Stafford would move his team down the field into Giants territory before being faced to kick a field goal as Jason Hanson would drill a 40 yard field goal to give the Lions a 14 point lead late in the 3rd. 24-10 Detroit.

Eli and his Giants would face a 4th and 14 at midfield as the punt team would come out and pin Detroit on their own 12 yard line. Detroit would try and milk the clock a little on this drive, but Megatron couldn't help himself as he put Detroit right into New York's territory, but not enough for a field goal...but a picture perfect punt as Nick Harris pinned Eli on his own 2 yard line with 2:05 left in the game down by 2 touchdowns.

The Giants wouldn't gain 1 yard on 3 downs, then on 4th and 10, Detroit would take a chance and send a 3 man blitz and it would pay off as Eli would get sacked for a safety putting the dagger in the heart. The Lions offense would just run the rest of the game out with the final score being 26-10 Detroit.

                          Good Game Dan The Man.

Detroit Comes Away With Week 1 Victory By The Skin Of Their Teeth

Detroit would head down south to New Orleans to face WarMachine's Saints to kickoff the inaugular Golden Turducken season in a NFC conference week 1 game against krul's Detroit Lions.

The Saints would receive the ball to start off the game. Trent Edwards would also make his first appearence with the Saints in an off-season trade that would send Drew Brees packing. Julian Peterson would greet Edwards on the second play with a vicious sack that would injure Trent, bringing in a familiar face to Lions fans as Joey Harrington would come in the game. Trent Edwards would be back soon though as he was just suffering from back spasms.

The Lions would receive the ball on their own 29 yard line as Matthew Stafford would make his career debut with, completing his first NFL pass to newly aquired vet, "Starvin" Marvin Harrison for 18 yards. Very next play, a 12 yard WR Screen to Calvin Johnson for another 1st down. Unfortunately for Stafford and his offense, backup HB Maurice Morris would fumble on the 18 yard line on his first rushing attempt as the Saints would recover.

Detroit's defense would continue to step up with another big sack on Edwards, but this time they would convert on a long 3rd and 16 for the first down. Following play, a big 14 yard rush by Pierre Thomas bringing the Saints to midfield. 2 plays later New Orleans would face another 3rd and long, 3rd and 13 to be exact. And yet again, the Saints would get a big play to TE Jeremy Shockey for another first down as Coach krul was livid on the sidelines. 3rd and 1 from the 23 as Pierre Thomas would take a run to the outside with one man to beat as he was tackled into the endzone as the refs signaled for the touchdown. 7-0 Saints.

Stafford and crew would step on the field once again with just seconds left in the 1st quarter. On 2 consecutive pass plays Stafford would feel the pressure getting hit as he threw the ball. On 3rd and 10 he would finally throw strike to Dennis Northcutt for a HUGE gain, but as he was running down the sidelines he would take a big hit as he fumbled right on the sidelines as the Saints would recover another fumble! Trent Edwards would throw a pick a few plays later as Anthony Henry would take the ball all the way back to the Saints own 11 yard line! On 3rd and 6, Stafford would snap the ball from the shotgun gunning it immediately to slot WR Bryant Johnson in the slant for the touchdown to tie the game up. 7-7.

Trent Edwards & Pierre Thomas would respond right back with a nice drive of their own, getting all the way to the Lions 17 yard line. Yet again though, on a 3rd and 8, Ernie Sims would jump up and snatch a pass to give the Lions the ball back on their own 20. 1st and 10, Stafford would launch a 60 yard bomb to Calvin Johnson who would just be a step slow as New Orleans picked it right back at their own 20! Detroit's defense would be giving up alot of big plays today as New Orleans was quickly on their own 22 yard line. Very unusual for krul's defense. Couple plays later, a touchdown pass from Trent Edwards to Darrell Jackson to give the Saints the lead with a little over a minute remaining in the half. 14-7 Saints.

That lead wouldn't last long though as Phillip Buchanon would take back a kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown to tie the game right back up. Trying a squib kick, Jason Hanson's kick would have a bad bounce going out of bounds for the penalty that would give the Saints the ball on their own 40 yard line with a minute remaining. Not to worry though Detroit fans, as Ernie Sims would come up with his 2nd pick of the game. 1st play by Matthew Stafford would be a quick screen to Calvin Johnson who would turn up field getting to the Saints 40 yard line before being tackled. 2nd & 4 with 18 seconds and 1 timeout remaining on New Orleans 33 yard line, Stafford would throw a quick strike to rookie tightend Brandon Pettigrew for 13 more yards, Detroit would use it's final timeout. With 7 seconds remaining, Jason Hanson wouldd boot through a 37 yard field goal before halftime to give the Lions the lead. 17-14 Detroit.

Detroit would receive the ball at the half as they hoped to increase their lead. Sources say that Lions head coach krul had a long and thorough talk all throughout halftime to his football team as he reportedly wasn't very happy with his teams first half performance. Although they wouldn't score a touchdown, Detroit's offense would move into range as Jason Hanson would drill another field goal, this one 45 yards away to make the score 20-14 Detroit.

The Lions defense would have no answer to New Orleans rushing attack the next drive as they would be able to run left, right, up the middle, anywhere. Until they would get into Detroit's goal line, to where the Lions defense would step up until a 3rd and long goal (11 yards) as Edwards would somehow fit a pass over the middle as Foote would deck Jackson, who would still hold onto the ball for a touchdown to give the Saints the 1 point lead heading into the 4th quarter. 21-20 Saints.

Matthew Stafford would make a huge mistake on the next drive as he would throw a pick to the rookie Malcolm Jenkins for an INT TD to give the Saints an 8 point lead now. 28-20 New Orleans.

Following drive Stafford would come right back passing 3 straight times to bring his team down to the 5 yard line in less than 45 seconds! Then 2 runs later Kevin Smith would run into the endzone 5 yards for a touchdown. They would fail the 2 point conversion however, 28-26 Saints with 5 minutes remaining.

Detroit's defense has been shaky all day, but they really need to come up with a stop on this drive if they're looking to have any shot in this game. 1st and 10, Reggie Bush would be stopped behind the line for a loss. 2nd and 13, the Saintd wouldn't be able to get the snap off fast enough for a crucial delay of game penalty. 2nd and 18 now. Daniel Bullocks would read the play all the way, jumping in front of a pass to pick it off, giving Detroit the ball on the Saints 30 yard line!

New Orleans defense would come up big forcing a quick 3 and out, however, Hanson would boot through his 3rd field goal of the game, this time a 38 yarder that would give the Lions a 1 point lead with a little over 3 minutes in the game. 29-28 Detroit.

Starting from their 31 yard line, Trent Edwards would throw another interception to Anthony Henry, his 2nd of the game! Detroit would milk the clock some more, kicking another field goal, this time from 50 yards....but wait, there's a holding penalty! Now Detroit would have to punt now!

Starting from their 18 yard line, Trent edwards would have to shake off his previous interceptions and be the hero to bring his team back for the win. With only 2 timeouts remaining and under a minute and a half left New Orleans would get to their own 29 for a first down, clock still ticking. 2 plays later, they get to their 44 yard line with 43 seconds left, 1 timeout remaining. 3rd and 10 from the 44, 31 seconds left. Edwards would friew a throw for a first down. On Detroit's 46 yard line, with no timeouts remaining and the time at 23 seconds. A deep throw would almost result in a pick, but incompletion instead. 2nd and 10, 17 seconds now. A deep throw to Marques Colston...completion! The Saints would be in field goal range, but the clock was ticking down fast as Edwards couldn't get the snap off quick enough as time expired! Detroit would barely come away with the victory! 29-28 Lions!

                            Good Game WarMachine.
