Lions Force 8 Turnovers In Route Over The Rams

Calvin Johnson Had Plenty To Celebrate About This One

      Box Score
      - 0 - 7 - 14 - 14 - 35
      - 0 - 0 - 7 - 0 - 7

So it would be Coach krul's Detroit Lions would clash with Coach red33's St. Louis Rams. The two vets would clash in St. Louis as the Rams would win the toss and elect to kick.

Stafford would take his Lions down the field methodically picking apart the Rams defense before Kevin Smith would take the handoff inside the Rams 30 yard line and he would fumble! Luckily enough for Detroit, an aware rookie Brandon Pettigrew would scoop up the ball and fall forward 2 more yards. However, things would go from great to what just happened when they were stopped on the Rams 18 yard line . Jason Hanson would miss...a 27 yard field goal? Wow.

The two teams would go at it for the rest of the 1st quarter with Matthew Stafford throwing a pick to St. Louis ending the quarter. The 2nd quarter would continue more of the same as neither team has put points on the board yet until a Mathew Stafford interception would put St. Louis good field position inside Lions territory. Bulger and The Rams would move further into Lions territory before Eric King would pick him off! Detroit's offense would struggle though and punt right back to St. Louis.

Detroit would have a final drive in the half as they would orchastrate a drive well into St. Louis territory. A nice run by Smith into a no huddle offense would have the Rams confused resulting in a 30 yard strike from Stafford to Calvin connection for the touchdown. 7-0 Detroit at halftime.

The Rams would get the ball to start the 2nd half...although that wouldn't last long as Bulger threw it into the arms of MLB Larry Foote to give Detroit's offense the ball back real early in the 3rd. The Lions offense wouldn't hesitate to attack as a couple of plays before a 17 yard rushing touchdown by Kevin Smith following his blocks perfectly diving across the pylon untouched. Touchdown Lions! 14-0.

St. Louis' ball again as this time their turnover woe's would be on the hands of Steven Jackson...literally as he would be stripped by Ernie Sims to give Detroit the ball back! The Lions offense would move into field goal range...but Jason Hanson would just be off today missing the 53 yard field goal. 0-2 tonight. Well, the Rams would finally get on the board as Steven Jackson would make up for his fumble making a fantastic pass reception for a touchdown. 14-7 Lions.

The Lions would finally get a huge play after getting to midfield Stafford would dump a WR screen too Calvin Johnson on a CB Blitz for a 50 yard touchdown with Megatron diving into the endzone with defenders surrounding him for a touchdown! 21-7 Detroit.

Just horrible luck for Coach red33 as DT Shaun Smith would come up with a sensational interception giving the Lions offense the ball well in Rams territory. Getting all the way to their 3, Detroit would give a heavy dose of Kevin Smith on 2 straight handoffs up the gut but he would get stopped at the 1. Coach krul would call a crazy, but smart playaction pass on 3rd and goal on the 1, as Stafford would even get hurt on the pass to Maurice Morris out of the backfield for a touchdown! Stafford strained his hip, he'll be back in the game soon. 28-7 Detroit.

Another crazy interception by Ernie Sims would result in a touchdown for the Lions once again as Detroit has it well in hand, 35-7 would be the final score as the Lions would beat the Rams.

      Good Game red33.

Detroit Falls Short In Late Comeback Attempt

Jerious Norwood Would Start The Game Off With An Electrifying 100 Yard Kickoff Return For A TD

          Box Score
          - 3 - 3 - 7 - 0 - 13
          - 7 - 14 - 0 - 0 - 21

Coach krul's Detroit Lions would stay at home for a game against Coach QUAN-AKA-Goat's Atlanta Falcons. It's a notable to point out that Coach QUAN is currently 10-1 and on a 9 game winning streak.

Detroit would win the coin toss as they'd elect to kick it off to get the ball at halftime. Things wouldn't start off well for Detroit as Jerious Norwood would return the kickoff 100 yards for the touchdown untouched as the Lions special teams looked terrible. 7-0 Falcons.

The Lions offense would start on their 24 yard line as Matthew Stafford would look to tie the game back up early. He would do almost that taking his Lions down to the Falcons 5 yard line before being stopped after a 4 and a half minute drive that would end up being a field goal. 7-3 Atlanta.

Atlanta's offense would step onto the field for the first time as they would give a heavy dose of the running game with Michael Turner who would break some big runs putting the Falcons into Detroit territory. On 3rd and 13, Matt Ryan would hit Tony Gonzalez for a 22 yard touchdown. 14-3 Atlanta.

2 plays later, Stafford would throw a pick putting Atlanta right back in Lions territory. 1st play...Tony Gonzalez would catch a wide open pass on the bootleg. 21-3 Falcons late in the 2nd.

Needing to score before halftime, Stafford would move his Lions down the field rather quickly next drive, getting them to the Falcons 27 with around a minute remaining in the half. 2 consecutive drops (one in the endzone by Calvin) would lead to a 44 yard field goal by Jason Hanson going into halftime 21-6 Atlanta.

The Lions would get the ball to start off the second half and one would have to think that if they don't score a touchdown on this drive it could be over already. Stafford would come up big with a 56 yard touchdown pass to Calvin Johnson! 21-13 Lions.

Detroit's defense would come up with a huge stop giving the Lions offense another chance to possibly tie the game up as the game heads into the 4th quarter. Stafford would throw it deep to Bryant Johnson who would drop the ball after taking a huge hit as the ball bounced into the hands of a Falcons defender for the interception. The Lions defense would come up big one more time giving Stafford and co the ball back at their own 20 with 1:30 left and 2 timeouts remaining for Detroit.

Stafford would methodically move his team all the way down to Atlanta's 7 yard line as the game would be on the line. Coming out in 5-wide shotgun formation with 2 seconds remaining on 4th and goal, Stafford would put Calvin in motion and snap the ball, Calvin did a quick slant inside as Stafford threw the ball as hard as he could but a GREAT swat by the linebacker would end the close game as Detroit couldn't quite complete the comeback. Atlanta wins 21-13.

Great Game QUAN, that kickoff return to start the game really killed me.

Falcons Run All Over New Orleans In 45-24 Victory

                Michael Turner Was Just Redunkulious

                Box Score
                - 14 - 17 - 7 - 7 - 45
                - 7 - 14 - 3 - 0 - 24

As per request of Izzy before this game, Coach krul didn't use his Lions and actually brought the team that just recently defeated Detroit in the Atlanta Falcons. Coach Izzy would bring the New Orleans Saints as it would be an NFC South division game in the Georgia Dome. Atlanta rocking the dirty bird era jerseys.

The Falcons would receive the ball first as Jerious Norwood would bring it to his 27 yard line. First play of the game, a Power O to the right to Michael Turner as he would follow his blocks to the outside running down the sidelines 73 yards untouched for the touchdown! 7-0 Atlanta.

After a nice first down run by Reggie Bush on the 1st play of New Orleans drive, they would suffer a 3rd and 17 before having to punt right back to Atlanta. Not to worry Saints fans as Matt Ryan would try and catch New Orleans off guard next drive with a playaction pass deep that would be picked off to give the Saints the ball on the Falcons 48 yard line. The Falcons defense would stay tought though not even giving the Saints a yard...until 3rd down when a deep corner pass to Marques Colston would result in a 48 yard touchdown to tie the game all back up. 7-7.

All it would take is 5 plays that would go for 74 yards in 1:37 as a 18 yard touchdown pass on 3rd and 9 to Roddy White would give the Falcons the lead once more. 14-7.

Drew Brees would throw a pick on the 2nd play of the Saints next drive to give the Falcons the ball on New Orleans 46 yard line. The Saints defense would hold though, as Jason Elam booted through a 50 yard field goal to give the Falcons a two possession lead going into the 2nd quarter. 17-7 Falcons.

Devery Henderson would make a sensational kick return for a touchdown on ensuing kickoff as Coach krul continues to struggle in that area lately. 17-14 Falcons. The Saints defense would force a quick 3 and out on the next Falcons drive. On the first play of the Saints drive...another huge play that continues to plague Coach krul as Reggie Bush would break free for a 55 yard rushing touchdown on the 1st play. 21-17 Saints.

After driving deep into Falcons territory once again before halftime, before Drew Brees would throw another pick in which the safety would take it all the way down to the Saints 9 yard line before being tackled. 2 plays later Matt Ryan would throw a strike to Michael Jenkins who makes a diving catch on a slant for the touchdown! And with 10 seconds left in the half, alot of crazy things would happen. 1st a squib kick would bounce right into the hands of a Saint who would run it up to his 44. Brees would throw a quick strike to Shockey calling a time with 1 second left on Atlanta's 40 now. With no timeouts left, Atlanta would call a field goal return expecting a kick as New Orleans would come out in a 5-wide set looking at the hail mary, the Falcons would audible into a deep man to man...Brees throws it up as the one person the Saints didn't want to pick it off did...Jerious Norwood would take it from the 5 yard line all the way dowwn the field with time expired as he only had Reggie Bush to beat...and he did as he faked right, then went left for the 95 yard return! 31-21 Atlanta at halftime.

New Orleans would go down the field 41 yards on 5 plays to kick a field goal, bringing it within a touchdown. 31-24 Falcons. Atlanta would give a heavy dosage of the running game on their next drive as Michael Turner and Jerious Norwood would move the Falcons offense down the field to the Saints 34. Then another 8 yard run by Michael Turner, followed by a 26 yard untouched counter run to the right by Jerious Norwood for a Falcons touchdown heading into the 4th, 38-24 Falcons as Coach krul would wonder how great it would be to have this kind of running game with Detroit.

Reggie Bush would make another ridiculous run early on the Saints next drive, going all the way down to the Falcons 5 yard line. On 3rd and goal, Brees would throw it right to a defender as he swatted it down. 4th and goal as Coach Izzy would have to go for it. Brees would roll out to his left before firing a pass off to a receiver, out of bounds, incomplete. Falcons ball. You could rest assure that Coach krul would continue to run the ball down New Orleans throat trying to milk as much clock as possible. The Falcons would do just that, just having their way with the Saints defense as Turner ran left, right, up the middle, anywhere. Even Norwood had his way. And with just 1:04 remaining in the game, Turner would run one more in for good measure as the final score of the game would be 45-24 Atlanta.

                Good Game Izzy.

Hester Almost Single-Handedly Beat Detroit 28-21

One Of Hester's Many Big Plays

                  Box Score
                  - 7 - 0 - 7 - 7 - 21
                  - 7 - 7 - 7 - 7 - 28

Two VSN/MM vets would go at it today as Coach Windy City's Chicago Bears would defend against Coach krul's Detroit Lions in a classic NFC North battle. The Bears would win the coin toss and elect to kick to get the ball first in the second half.

Detroit would set up shop at their 29 yard line as Matthew Stafford and Co would head onto the field for the first time. Detroit's offense would look consistently good and clutch as the running and passing before a beautifully set up screen to Maurice Morris would give Detroit the first points of the game on a 13 yard touchdown. 7-0 Lions.

Go figure...3 games in a row now...Detroit would give up a 102 yard kickoff return for a touchdown by non other than Devin Hester. 7-7 all tied up again. The Lions offense would look completely off their next drive compared to their first as Matthew Stafford would throw a pick to DT Tommie Harris to put the Bears on Detroit's 31 yard line as the 2nd quarter started. On a 3rd and 13, Cutler would throw into coverage as Phillip Buchanon tipped it to teammate Eric King for the interception.

The Lions offense would get their rythm back until a holding call on a 3rd and 3 after picking up 10 yards would kill the drive and force Detroit to punt it. Cutler would quickly connect deep with Devin Hester who would go 63 yards before getting tackled at the Lions 6 yard line with 2 minutes remaining in the half. 2 plays later Matt Forte would run it in on a 6 yard toss for a Bears touchdown. 14-7. The teams would go into halftime with the score 14-7 Chicago.

Da Bears would get the ball to start the second half off. Detroit's defense would come up big though forcing a quick 3 and out punting the ball back to the Lions offense. Detroit's offense would start their next drive on their own 28 yard line. On a WR Screen to Megatron, Stafford would throw a bullet at him for a 24 yard gain on the first play putting them on Da Bears 43. Following that a 28 yard rush to the outside by Kevin Smith getting to the Bears 15 yard line. On a 3rd and goal from the Bears 4 yard line, Detroit would run it one more time with Maurice Morris as he would go into the endzone to tie the game back up late in the 3rd quarter. 14-14.

Cutler would move his Bears offense right back into Detroit territory though on their 32. Following that, they would run a QB Bootleg to Devin Hester who had a step on Phillip Buchanon for the 32 yard touchdown pass to give Chicago the lead right back, 21-7 at the start of the 4th.

On a 3rd and 6 from their 44, Stafford would drop back in shotgun and throw to Maurice Morris who would immediately get rocked at the first down marker, but Morris held on to the football as the chain gang came out onto the field and Detroit got the first down. The following play, Stafford would take a big chance on a deep 58 yard touchdown pass to Calvin Johnson over two defenders! That's the kind of play Coach krul needs more of this year. 21-21 with 4 minutes remaining in the game.

Of course, Coach krul's defense would give up a 78 yard touchdown to Devin Hester on the first play of Chicago's next drive on a pass from Jay Cutler. 28-21 Bears. Stafford and the Lions offense wouldn't give up though as they moved up the field pretty quickly, especially off a big 50 yard reception and run by rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew that would put the Lions offense on the Bears 7 yard line. The clincher would be on the next throw by Matthew Stafford as he got hit throwing where Nathan Vasher was lurking and picked off the pass in the endzone as he'd take it Chicago's 38 before being tackled by Stafford. Chicago would get a first down and just run the clock out as Da Bears would be the Lions 28-21 with big plays plaguing Coach krul yet again.

                  ~Stat Of Impact~

I don't know how many games it's been exactly...but I've prob given up a 75+ yard play that would result in a touchdown in the past 5-10 games. Disgusting. *shakes head*

Snow Storm Doesn't Prevent High Scoring Affair

Willie Parker Was A Man Possessed Today Breaking Tackles Left & Right

                    - 0 - 14 - 7 - 10 - 31
                    - 0 - 7 - 0 - 14 - 21

Coach krul would take on Coach Az0rean0's (aka Boss AZ) Tennessee Titans for the 2nd time this season (although first documented). Coach krul's Lions lost to the Titans in Tennessee last time 10-3. Well this time Coach As0's Titans would travel up north to Heinz Field to face the Pittsburgh Steelers in a heavy snow blizzard.

The Steelers would win the toss and elect to kickoff to start the game as Vince Young and the Titans offense would take the field for the first time on their 34. On a 3rd and 5, VY would get sacked by Woodley as Tennessee would be forced to punt. The ball at their 30, Ben Roethlisberger would hand it off to Willie Parker to the left as he would make one cut and be off to the races for a 70 yard touchdown! But wait, there's a flag on the field as this one comes back for holding. The penalty would immediately stop Pittsburgh's momentum as they'd have to punt after a 3 and out as well.

Pittburgh's defense would keep living up to their dominance as they forced another 3 and out. Roethlisberger would get off a nice pass to TE Heath Miller for a big gain that would put the Steelers in Tennessee territory. All for nothing though as Willie Parker would fumble as the Titans recover it at their 41. On 3rd and 8, Vince Young would finally give the Titans their first down late in the 1st. Couple plays later and they would find themselves on the Steelers 11 yard line as suddenly Pitt couldn't stop them. On 3rd and 2 from the Steelers 4, and at the start of the 2nd quarter, LenDale White would take the handoff but be stopped just inches! At first the Titans would come out in field goal formation before taking a timeout as Coach Az0 thought otherwise and came out with his offense again. A toss to Chris Johnson who who would get gang tackled right at the first down marker. Chain gang would come out....first down! The Steelers defense would continue to play good D though until Vince Young did a bootleg to the right on 3rd down that caught the Steelers completely off-guard. 7-0 Titans.

Tennessee would stop the Steelers next drive once more, but the returner would fumble the ball after trying to do too much as the Steelers recovered! Roethlisberger would come out at the Titans 38 next drive before taking them down further down to their 5. Then Coach krul would pull some trickery with the Steelers, running out of the wildcat formation as Santanio Holmes would go into motion and take the handoff from Willie Parker 5 yards into the endzone! 7-7 all tied up now.

On the following drive, running the two minute offense, Vince Young would bring his offense to midfield and with 50 seconds left James Farrior would strip LenDale White as the Steelers would recover again! With an opportunity to score before the half is over, Roethlisberger would bring the Steelers further into Titans territory with his hands and feet before running a HB Draw out of shotgun as Willie Parker took it upfield breaking two tackles into the endzone! 14-7 Steelers at halftime.

Pittsburgh would get the ball to start the 2nd half and would keep on rolling as Willie Parker would break 3 tackles and turn down the sidelines for plenty more yards before finally being tackled at the Titans 25! Several plays later, Willie Parker would take a break as Rashard Mendenhall would come in and run tough for 2 yards and another Steelers touchdown, 21-7.

Vince Young would get it going again the following drive bringing his Titans down to Pittsburgh's 37 yard line. Tough and rough defense by the Steelers would stop the Titans right in their tracks, forcing a a tough field goal in which Rob Bironas would miss very short in the endzone as Santonio would catch it, but kneel down (I didn't want him too...) to put the Steelers offense on their own 45. After moving into Titans territory, Pittsburgh would try a toss play in which Willie would fumble once again as Big Ben would have to bring big DE Kyle Vanden Bosch down. Not to worry though as the Steel Curtain (yes, I said it) would force another quick 3 and out.

On 4th and 11 from midfield, the Titans would have to go for it as time was running out with a little over 4 minutes left in the game. Aaron Smith would demolish Vince Young for the turnover on downs. After driving down in Titans territory, the Steelers would come out in the wildcat formation once again, this time Willie would fake to Santino and run the counter to the left, juking one defender, and stiff arming the other into the endzone for another Pittsburgh touchdown. 28-7 with 2 minutes remaining in the game. The Titans would happen to score one last time on a nice WR screen in which Chris Johnson would run it 54 yards for a touchdown. 28-14 Steelers. Then things would get a little more interesting as Tennessee would recover the onside kick. Vince Young would throw an interception that would be the final straw for Tennessee as the Steelers win the game, 31-21 (Pittsburgh would tack on one more field goal and Tennessee would score on a last second hail mary to Chris Johnson).

                    Good Game As0.

                    ~Stat Of Impact~

Pittsburgh's defense would force pressure on Vince Young all day long, totaling for 5 sacks.

Good game Krul. Time to give VY another 20 game break. (maybe, it's kinda fun playing with the bum) Game was like a real Pitt/Tenn game for the most part. Willie was possessed though. I'm gonna hurt the mfer if I can get a hitstick off lol

Lions Claw Down The Packers At Lambeau 35-7

                        Megatron Broke Out Today

                        Box Score
                        - 7 - 21 - 7 - 0 - 35
                        - 0 - 0 - 7 - 0 - 7

Weel 6 of the TGT season would feature to bitter NFC North rivals as Coach krul's Detroit Lions (3-2) would travel to historic Lambeau Field to face Coach for_surtain's Green Bay Packers (2-2). The Lions would be coming off a tough loss against the Steelers (their first win of the season) and look to rebound in a divison game.

Detroit would win the toss and elect to kick as Coach krul would want the ball in the second half. Aaron Rodgers and his Packers offense would come out on their 28, Detroit's defense would come out looking for blood as they stopped Green Bay on a 3 and out after MLB Larry Foote would lay down the law on Jennings forcing the drop. The Lions would take over from their 36 yard line and it would only take 2 plays until they were in Green Bay territory on their 44. On the 3rd play of the drive, Matthew Stafford would fake to HB Kevin Smith as he would draw SS Atari Bigby in just long enough to hit Calvin Johnson who had a stepped on Charles Woodson for the touchdown! 7-0 Lions.

After getting across into Lions territory, Ernie Sims would just come in unblocked and blindside HB Ryan Grant as he forced the fumble with Larry Foote quickly jumping on top of the football, Detroit ball! The Lions would face and interesting decision as on 4th and inches on the Packers 38 yard line, their offense would come back onto the field to go for it, but Kevin Smith would be short just of the marker for a turnover on downs. No harm, no foul though as MLB Jordon Dizon would come up with a pick on the 2nd play of the Packers following drive as the Lions defense just looked lights out in the 1st quarter. Stafford would have too much faith in his arm however, as he would try to throw a bullet to Calvin Johnson, but C-Wood would get his revenge jumping in the way to pick it right back. The Lions defense would keep up the tempo though, forcing another 3 and out.

A couple of possessions later, Calvin Johnson would be Stafford's target once again, this time for a 34 yard touchdown for Megatron! 14-0 Lions. Following Green Bay possession, Ernie Sims would continue to show his dominance reading Aaron Rodgers eyes all the way, picking him off once again and running it down the sidelines 62 yards for the Lions touchdown! 21-0.

Aaron Rodgers would move his Packers into Lions territory right before halftime...only to throw another pick (his 4th), that rookie SS Louis Delmas would return for 79 yards and the touchdown as Detroit was ALL business today, 28-0 Lions at halftime.

Detroit's offense would get the ball to start the second half off and you have to think they'll be trying to work the clock as much as possible. This game was virtually all but over, although the Packers did avoid the shutout with a nice WR screen to Greg Jennings. Other than that though, nothing to be happy about in Green Bay as they fall below .500 to 2-3 and the Lions goto 4-2 as the final score would be 35-7.

Calvin Johnson had 6 receptions for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns.
