Who buys broken PS3s? What broke on it?

Hmmm, maybe anyone that knows how to repair electronics? Most pieces of electronics that break require very little in the way of repairs. Some people buy broken consoles for crazy cheap, spend a few bucks to repair them (if that), and then sell them for a big profit.

instead E3 was all about fucking plastic perpherials to fill your house with and dancing around your house taking to small boys on your TV and the fucking sales continue to encourage it. god fucking dammit.

lol kinda funny microsoft and sony are trying to copy what the Wii did with motion controls. love or hate the Wii, nintendo destroyed microsoft/sony this gen ... not to mention the DS which has been the best selling hardware for what seems like forever,

What is so horrible about it? What is that much better about Live? It's not like Live is lag free. Far from it. My buddy was just telling me last night that WaW on 360 was a lag fest but he hasn't had a single problem on PS3. The few times I've played WaW on 360 I would have to agree. It all comes down to the individual developers and their servers.It's not like the 360 has dedeicated servers or anything. Look at the atrocity that was the launch of Battlefield 1943 on the 360. Completely broken. But it was fine on PS3. Gears of War 2 ring a bell?

Sure the lack of a headset on PS3 sucks. Trying to play a great game like Fat Princess without team coordination sucks ass. But I must say that after finally jumping on Live two nights ago to play CoD4, a lack of headset might be a blessing in disguise. I wanted to stab myself in the ears after listening to a bunch of know it all 12 year olds talking "strategy" and calling each other n-ggers. Wow, awesome time. The few people that did talk during my Fat Princess sessions were very cool and very helpful. I had the same experience with Warhawk. Maybe it's just me but it seems like the PS3 online community is a lot more mature. Maybe because the console costs more than a few weeks of a 12 year olds allowance? What exactly are we paying $50 a year for on Live? Dedicated servers? Nope? Getting bombarded with ads and getting charged for pirate costumes for our gay avatars? Yes please!

I also don't even think it's debatable which online service has the better, more innovative downloadable games.

Not being able to tell whether someone is playing a game online or single player does suck. But it's not like it's hard to send someone a message and ask if they want to get a game in.

i agree with chodite that its the little things that make XBL better but i had no problems with PSN especially after they put in-game messaging in. online was just as smooth between the two IMO. ps3 was free but xbl is still cheap. if you can afford to buy a game or two a month theres no reason to bitch about paying a few bucks a months for online service.

Yeah, I definitely agree with what Cho said too. At least Sony constantly releases updates to improve the service.

I just don't think Live is leagues above PSN like some people think. I don't think the Live fee is any big deal but it pisses me off that they charge you and then on top of that you get bombarded with ads and charges for stupid shit like avatar clothing, over priced aracade games and way over priced DLC. I mean, shoudln't those fucking ads be supplanting any fees for the service?

Hell, even the OXM guys (Official Xbox Magazine) have speculated that the reason the latest L4D DLC is coming to 360 is ALL Microsofts doing.

The thing that really scares me is that M$ is slowly pushing prices on everything and I can see it getting to a point where you will have to pay extra to play the big exclusive online games like Halo and Gears.
