Dave's PS3 Online Power Rankings (Aug. 17 edition)

HOW TO GET INTO THE TOP 10:
A) Play games - it sounds simple enough, but you need games played.
B) Quality opponents - a diet of wins over Helicopter, Dave and PTR won't help your power ranking.
C) Quality of team used - if you're consistently winning with a bad team, it helps. If you're consistently winning with an elite team, it won't help.


NOTE:
ScZeus brought up a good point. League and tourney games don't count towards the Tracker, so that's also a factor. I am not going to track every damn league just for these power rankings. I still disagree with Mobb on this one - I think every game should count for the Tracker, so we can keep good power rankings and set up a VSN Championship.



1. Dasackartist 8-1
Frankly, I don't see anyone taking him out of this spot for the entire year. He's already rolling with a lousy team like Oakland.
Notable wins: Beat Izzy 70-14, SCZeus, Fisker.
Primary team: Oakland


2. Flawless 6-0
Flawless is unbeaten and has played high-quality opponents. He generally uses Jacksonville, but will up the ante to San Diego or Tennessee if his opponent shows him a strong team. I'd like to see Flawless play elite teams using Jacksonville.
Notable wins: Deejay, Izzy, Legacy, MMRed
Primary team: Jacksonville
Secondary team: San Diego


3. SCZeus 15-4
This guy deserves to be in the top 3 and an argument can be made for top 2. He plays anyone and everyone and does it with Oakland.
Notable wins: Windy City, Deejay, Onlyonebeerleft.
Losses: Dasackartist, Fisker.
Primary team: Oakland


4. TimsGiants 8-3
Tim solid on both sides of the ball, but has a big advantage going into every game, using his New York Football Giants. That said, everyone knows he's a Giants guy. His loss to Dave keeps him out of the top 3. Anyone who loses to Dave does not belong in the top 3.
Notable wins: BigHerm, Izzy.
Notable loss: Dave
Primary team: N.Y. Giants



5. WindyCity 5-1
WindyCity a proven veteran who will always have a winning record. Loss to SC Zeus (31-21) hurt him in the power rankings.
Notable wins: Deejay, Legacy
Loss: SCZeus
Primary team: Chicago



6. Fisker 5-2
I have no clue who Fisker is, but his record is solid and he plays high-quality opponents. The second loss puts him behind Windy City, but it wasn't an easy decision.
Notable wins: ScZeus, Deejay
Losses: Dasackartist, Boss AZ.
Primary team: None - he never uses the same team twice.



7. Mobbdeep 4-1
Needs to get more games in this week. His spot in the top 10 is based primarily on his reputation. Quietstorm a decent player, but Mobb should not be losing to guys like him. Sorry, no offence, Quietstorm. You're my boy, but Mobb again should not be losing to guys like us. LOL
Notable wins: TomatoKetchup, BossAZ
Loss: Quietstorm
Primary team: Philadelphia



8. TomatoKetchup 7-4
A solid player who takes his time on the line of scrimmage. Not sure if he's a legit top 10 guy, because of his losses to Mobb, Tim and Chargersfan. He needs to step up his game against elite opponents to stay in the top 10.
Notable wins: Legacy
Losses: TimsGiants, Mobbdeep, Chargersfan
Primary team: Arizona


9. Onlyonebeerleft 8-5
Again, not a sure thing for the top 10 all season. He's all over the place with wins and losses and can't seem to beat the elite guys. Needs wins over elite guys to stay in the top 10.
Notable wins: StuDawg
Losses: TimsGiants, SCZeus
Primary team: Uses them all


10. Izzy 10-6
Izzy barely makes it in the top 10. When he plays elite players, he gets his ass handed to him. DSA, Tim and Flawless all bitch-slapped Izzy and BossAZ put 62 points on him too. Izzy needs to step up on defence in a big way. Simply playing 6,000 games won't keep you in the top 10.
Notable wins: Sabo, Legacy.
Losses: Dasackartist, Flawless, TimsGiants, BossAZ
Primary team: Uses them all




On the cusp:
Chargersfan 4-3 ... almost there. Needs a slightly better record
staylor0wnzu 10-8 ... this guy plays high-quality opponents with a mediocre team.
BigHerm 7-5 ... some blowout losses hurt his cred in the power rankings.
umfer (umflhs22tuff) 9-7 ... plays solid opponents, gave SCZeus and Fisker tough games

Probably every Monday (might do it occasionally on Sunday instead, if the spirit moves me).

No matter how much they fix the Tracker, it can't replace the human touch. Quality of opponents is a big factor. The teams you use another factor.

Ive been so dam streaky this year. I just got blown out in a 6 turnover game I win like 3-4 straight then just bomb a game...playing with one functioning eye doesnt work either, now i know how jake feels with one nut

I dont think me and Izzy get enough credit for rolling with a bunch of different teams. It involves diff gameplans each game. But I can't complain cuz the way Im playing right now I shouldn't even be in the top 10 IMO.

I agree that you deserve some credit for using multiple teams, but can you blame guys if they want to roll with THEIR team?

Tim has always used the Giants. He shouldn't be penalized because they're an elite team now. He should, however, be punished for losing to a scrub like me (which he was).

Trust me, I am thinking about that. Their running backs are fast and I suspect both DSA and Zeus throw a lot of short passes to those backs, who are tough to stop this year.

The Tracker, unfortunately, is the best way to figure out these power rankings.
I can't keep track of every league and tourney.
Life would be easier if every game was a Tracker game, but it's Mobb's house, so we play by his rules.
