    Problems running?

So I've been playing madden for a long time now and anyone who has played me knows... I'm a pretty good player in previous maddens.

But for some reason, I can't get down the running game. It seems as if the RUN blocking is a little fucked over this game. I can't do a HB dive 90% of the time without getting stopped in the backfield. And forget about HB tosses or stretches, I very rarely have a big play happen out of it.

Anyways, does anyone have a few tips to improve my running game? I'm not expecting to go insane, I just need something that is consistent.

    Thanks in advance.

i feel your pain though some games are better than others but for the most part i get stopped at the los on a dive or in the backfield on a stretch or toss mostly b/c my line decides to touch release their man

Same problems. I set the sliders break tackles at 58 and Run blocking at 61, it seems pretty solid, been using it for 5 games now. Barber, Jones, and Choice, seem to be consistent with this without being dominant.

The only real way to success in running is breaking a lot of tackles. And I dont like that. Very rarely do I get a play where I dont have to break 1 or 2 tackles to have a good run.

          pfft...

listen when you show that you like to run between the tackles...sooner or later the opposition will key in on that and stuff it.

I've had plenty of big runs up the gut..from Michael Turner to Thomas Jones...again the key is to mix it up with tossess and power runs. Don't just continue to run it up the gut, especially if the opposing defense has a big NT, DT that can get into the backfield...it's not gonna work.

The stretch play is useless this year to me. Toss plays can result in decent gains sometimes however.

I'm the opposite. I can get some yards on stretch plays from time to time, but can't get shit on tosses.

Can't run with Slaton at all, inside or outside. Pisses me off. He's still only 195 I think on the game when he gained around 20 pounds this off season.

Do you run with one team mostly, and if so who is the RB?

I so far have used the Colts and Cowboys (my fave team and my TGT team respectively) and the stretch play doesn't work very well for me. The toss is effective with dallas for me because Barber has the quickness.

I hate the fact that the stretch play doesn't work for me with the Colts because that is their bread and butter for setting up the play action....they don't always do extremely well with it, but they at least get past the line of scrimmage quite often. Also, the toss is not effective with Joseph Addai because he is slow as hell in the game

He is only good against the Colts defense

I play with the Steelers. Parker is fast as hell, but I can't get shit on toss plays.

I usually use Sage when I play against the Colts.

Honestly i have had no problems running the ball this year
i haven't done any slider adjustments except for penalties

I've been playin on all madden for the past few days as
                          1. Oakland Raiders (McFadden, Fargas, Bush) (Avg O-Line)
                          2. Atlanta Falcons (Turner, Norwood) (Young, Stud O-Line)
                          3. Eagles (Westbrook, McCoy) (Stud O-Line)
                          4. Patriots (Morris) (Stud O-Line)

And i have been playing games against
                          1. Denver
                          2. Eagles
                          3. Patriots
                          4. Oakland
                          5. NY Giants
                          6. Vikings
                          7. Green Bay

I honestly don't have any problems running the ball, i mean read the defense i usually always run to the weak side unless its a draw or iso pick the gap i feel the most confident about

I have good success on counters, toss', stretches, blasts, dives. I just read the defense more so the LB and the Dline, run to the weak side, move the TE if i need to and just seal off the end or pick the right gap, dont trigger the sprint right away, wait for your blockers especially if someone is pulling, follow your blockers slow down let them hit the block or get in the way and just run off his ass

do i get stopped in the back field a few times of course i do, enough for me to be upset no it happens, they had more defensive players shoot that side than their look gave or i was rushing the play

running isnt impossible but its definitely not as easy as it was last year. still see ridiculous shit like DT's shedding blocks in .1 seconds or DB's bringing down big bruising backs with simple arm tackles or on the flip side RB's breaking out of 3 person tackles. im just talking about online with AM difficulty, i dont play franchise or mess around with sliders
