55 Man Rosters

Why am I allowed to put 55 guys on my roster...? Did I miss an offseason memo about the roster max. being raised from 53 IRL?

Probably so EA can fit in a few extra guys before the season starts and the rosters arn't complete. Right now all the NFL rosters have waaaay more than 53 guys, being able to put 55 lets them have those guys that might make the team and are on the bubble be on the game now since they dont know who'll be cut and who wont.

On a related note, if you put someone on the IR isn't it supposed to open up a roster slot for you? I had Ryan Clark go down for the season, so I put him on IR to pick up another safety but was not allowed to pick anyone up.

How do you put someone on IR? I have a center who's out for the season, but I can't figure out how to put him on IR.

Usually if you go to the Injury Report, select said injured player using X button on PS3 (A on Xbox?, I'm not sure, I don't have a shit gaming system.

Yup, that doesn't work...can't access anything in the injury report screen. But I figured it out. I just went to the player management screen, and was able to do it from there.
