The Wii isn't counted by a lot of real gamers because it is a family machine. 360 and PS3 appeal to the real gamers and 360 has outdone PS3 by a wide margin, even with it's hardware failures.

I thought the video was funny and yet oh so true. I've been saying the same shit for years. The PS3 has always been the better deal, even before this significant price drop. But I can see why most people don't care about a lot of the included features and opted with the cheaper 360.

The bottom line is that Sony expected their name and all of the included extras to carry them this generation. The problem is that most people either don't care about the added stuff or they are ignorant to it, as evidenced by the post earlier wondering what "wf-fy" (wi-fi) was.

I don't think it was directly involved in it and I think the fanbase that bought the Wii didn't necessarily take away from the base that would've bought a 360. Nobody that was about to buy a 360/PS3 jumped and stuck with the Wii. They aren't on even playing fields. The Wii had a substantially cheaper price point, cheaper games, more mainstream appeal, more budgety titles but overall less "next-gen" features. Its essentially an upgraded GameCube with motion controls.

I'm sorry but you can't count them in the next-gen war. That's just my thought.

QFT...IMO, the Wii and 360/PS3 are in two completely different markets, and are not in competition with each other.
