Stopping a TE out of nickle?

I got raped the other nite by this guy usin the Chargers. All he kept doin was passin the ball to Gates out of a 3 WR set. Anyone have any tips on covering the TE?

I tried cover 2 and 3, the problem with that is that Gates will straight out score if the player picks a post route for it, thats the cover 2 and 3's weakness anyway.

But if I don't pick that defense, the jerk weed raped me with LT in the damn flats. Cover 2 and 3 are awesome at taking away LT or any rb in the flats BTW.

I am gonna try Man Under with press. Maybe I can slow down Gates enough, throw off the timing, and get to the QB.

Its next to impossible to cover this guy with the Eagles LBs, they seem too slow to cover him, especially Stew Bradley.

I hear that. LB player control is brutal in this game. You have to anticipate the route a lot more this year.

I feel like i can manually control a LB and run the route with the WR yet the WR breaks away at the last second usually and catches it over/in front of me.


Its weird though because corners are the opposite they seem much more agressive on the ball than the actual WRs do.

I have some problems changing directions. It's probably because I strafe while moving the majority of the time.

Did you try assigning your best LB/Safety to Cover him all game(defensive assignments)?

No but I will give it a shot, next time I play this guy. He's a coworker, it sux, cuz it was like I was playin a mirror image, even he said the same thing. LOL

if you know hes going to pass why match up with nickle, play him in dime. more speed on the field better chance of them throwing a pick.

I don't know what D playbook you use, but if a guy is abusing me with 3wr and Gates, I'm likely going to bring out quarters D.
Like every other year, it can stop the run anyway.

I wasn't concerned about the run. I was worried about LT in the flats. But Quarters is a good tip, cuz that will cover LT too.
