I'm still extremely happy with my purchase. I can't wait for 2k10 to come out, I always thought every game looks better on the PS3. The graphics never cease to impress me, IMO far superior to the 360.

Not to mention Sony is sticking to their 10 year cycle, whereas MS is already working on their next console.

The Gran Turismo series has always been at the forefront of pushing the Playstation to its limits, and even what it is now isn't maxing out the PS3.

I see your point, but the PS2 is still moving on the shelves. I took this from a Kazuo Hirai (CEO) interview:

If you look at the growth of the installed base, it is slower than the PS2 was but it's pretty much on track with the growth that we had with the original PlayStation.
We also always look at our business as being a 10-year lifecycle for all of our platforms. It's kind of difficult to say whether a platform has been successful or not going into our third anniversary. The fifth anniversary and beyond is when we really start to say how's our trajectory looking?

Every 6 years they come out with a new system, but the old system stays in production for 10 years. Watch at the PS2 only has one year left and then it will stop being in production. The same will happen to the PS3.

You only get the game if you choose to keep the system....not if you return it for the slim. They are doing this to curb the number of systems they get back.
