GH 5 with Van Halen anyone?

Anyone going to pick this up? Amazon has the offer right up till 10/1. I am definitely going for it. 85 songs in GH 5 and 25 Van Halen songs w/0 Sammy Hagar (FTMFW) and bonus tracks that Van Halen picked out.

It's actually not just Amazon but every retailer, I picked it up today, you fill out a form online and send it along with a copy of your receipt + a sticker from the game packaging to them and get the game in 4-6 weeks it says.

GH5 is awesome. Sultans of Swing = win.

I'm just pissed that I could've bought this from Gamestop today but instead I ordered from Amazon a few weeks ago. The only reason I went with Amazon was because some clown Gamestop employee (a manger nonetheless) told me he knew nothing about the Van Halen offer and suggested that if I saw the offer online then it was probably online only.

Maybe I can still pick it up tomorrow and cancel my Amazon order? It hasn't shipped yet.

If you are in a hurry to get the game, then yeah go ahead and do it. I was under the impression that the brick and mortars had the Van Halen offer for only pre-orders, but that wouldnt make sense.

I used to love GH 4.... i owned 2 and 3 for the 360 as well. But then i played rock band 2 and realized that GH just isnt as much fun. And they milk the shit out of this game and charge u for every little thing.

I love that with RB2 all the content carries over to the next game

All GH:WT DLC can be played in 5 for no extra cost, and for the same price as it cost to move the RB1 songs to RB2 ($5), you can import most of the GH:WT setlist and Smash Hits setlist.

Whether it's more or less fun than RB is debatable but they don't charge anymore than Harmonix does for DLC or anything else. And RB milks it too with the AC/DC pack, the DLC packs they put out on a disc for 20-30$, the upcoming Beatles which is no different than Metallica or Aerosmith. I don't see how you can fault either company for milking it when they sell like hot cakes.

i just think GH is way over the top with how many games they put out. a new game is supposed to feel like a new game. GH has felt the same since i first started playing GH 2 on 360. Minor tweaks here and there, but nothing significant. And GHWT took RB2 tour mode and did a piss poor job of coping it.

with RB you have RB, RB2, ACDC and now the Beatles. Those DLC packs you mentioned are not full games that cost 60 bucks like GH does it. RB puts out the DLC and says $20 for the whole thing, or buy each song you like individually. They give you the choice which i think is awesome.

I received my copy of GH5 in the mail yesterday. I know the series is tired at this point but I'm a sucker for these music games. I have my voucher all filled out for GH:VH and ready to drop in the mailbox.

Plus it has 3 Doors Down which I'm ecstatic about. Even if it is only one song.

I am getting the game soon enough. I just picked it up. I have never had the full version, my first game was the Metallica version. so I am going to keep GH 5.

Got my copy of Van Halen today.

After playing GH5, it's very meh. It's exactly the same setup as Metallica. Feels dated. Not to mention alot of the non-Van Halen songs are on RB2. But, for a free game, I'll take it
