Ive actually mixed up how i use him....sometimes i sit back, sometimes i blitz...i recently switched all my playbooks because i felt like i was relying on certain plays too much, and before the switch i controlled Woodson 100% of the time...now its 50/50.

yea you do mix it up. i'm just saying i know how you use him in certain situations. for example in zone you do what you should, read and react but in man2man, I see you let the cpu control woodson and if the ball is throw in your direction then you try to user pick it.

I did a test over my last two games. The only times i gave up any points were on blitz plays. Crossing routes are so money in this game that if a guy hits them quick avoiding the blitz its usually paydirt.

I don't have a problem with guys playing zone all game unless they're running the same exact play all game long. I'll be the first to admit that I play zone 80+ percent of the time, but I mix it up between cover 2, cover 3, blitz, etc. It is boring, and is most likely how most VSN'ers play. Guys get upset if you move guys around on defense or play bnr all game, so zone defense is really the only defense that works. Can't blame guys for using it all game.

My biggest problem with playing VSN guys is that I feel like I'm calling my plays just to stay within the rules, as opposed to doing what I want to do. An example: Last week I'm playing a guy, and during the second quarter he comes out in 4 WR bunch set four plays in a row. Each play was different, but consisted of a WR catching a ball near the sideline on the far side of the field. The fourth time that the person came out in this formation I click on my right CB and move him over closer to the sideline. In the process of clicking back to my MLB that I typically control, I accidentally move my d-lineman over one click (who then moves right back to where he was) and then get control of my MLB and move him over to the sideline a few steps as well. After the play the person pauses and says, "You can only move one guy". (This was just one isolated incident in an otherwise great game, but still... )

Mcstl(aka Castle) was right, people are starting to play the same around here. As soon as I try to get into the game to get my money's worth, I have a string of games of BS(EA or otherwise) that makes me not want to play at all
This post is so horrible I don't know where to begin.

95% of the NFL plays strictly zone D. So much for sim.

                      He does have a point.

The reason why I don't have a problem with poor man defense in the game is because man defense doesn't work well in real life.

Only a few teams run man to man, Raiders being the best at it, and Green Bay up until this year as they've gone zone 3-4 blitz style. Most corners in the league can't play man, especially with the new rules.

Hell, the Colts sit in a tampa 2 95% of the time. 95% of the teams play zone all game. This thread, again -- is terrible.

My god, I can't stand sim gripers. First, guys who sit in man all game are cheese. Then guys who sit in zone are cheese...

Get your O up. Get your D up. Get your game up.

If they are in zone, flood it. If they are in man, run compression sets and get rubs/picks...

Do you have stats to back that up? Not saying you are lying but I would love to see facts or if you are just pulling numbers. I know some teams run Zone extensively, but in the games I've watched, I dont see teams running zone 100% of the time. You mention the Colts and Bucs which come from the Tony Dungy tree. That's basically the same scheme from the same coach on 2 different teams.

I also dont see teams running 5 plays over and over, 9 guys in coverage most of the time or rocket catching either, yet you do it

Colts used to run cover 2 95% of the time with Dungy and Meeks . Just rush four with a cover 2 behind it no matter the down and distance . That has changed with the new D Co-Ordinator though (we still run cover 2 80% of the time) . Not many teams are in zone for more than 90% now
