Yeah, aren't the servers hosted by the developers and not by Sony/MS? So if a game allegedly has "shitty lag" on PS3 you can blame Infinity Ward.

Because of the controller? While I will agree that the 360 controller is a tad better for FPS's it's not the end all solution. I love playing Resistance and Killzone with the PS3 controller.
