The type of coverege I have seen of K-Rod compared to other elite players has been bs. ESPN has been all over his dick. I brought Lidge into this because Lidge had a better season than K-Rod as a closer, why not put him on the cover when he had a better year than K-Rod? ERA means a lot my friend around stat junkies like me. It's how I tell if he was actually as effective as he is made out to be. I would rather have a closer with 40 Saves but an under 2 ERA than a closer with 60+ saves witha higher ERA. K-Rod aloud games to get close by giving up more runs. I would never want to take the chance of having people on base during a save situation

A closers job is to secure the victory.

And thats what he's done... more then anyone in the MLB this year.
