Rumors circulated for what seemed like forever after the release about a sequel to smash hit. With Microsoft finally unveiling a trailer at E3, gamers have been asking for me. Today we bring to you the very first details of Crackdown 2, fresh from the latest issue of Game Informer.
* As the agency overtook the city, all hell broke loose. A zombie type virus broke out in the city, and the people of the city revolted against the Agency.
* The civilians call themselves the "Cell", and almost completely destroyed the Agency as we know it. As you return to the city this time around, you're engaged in a three way war.
* Gamers now have the ability to call in ammo crates and supplies, as support points are now gone from the game.
* The game, much like the trailer, has taken a much more gritty/dark approach while still keeping the cel-shaded look.
* Civilian cars are relatively the same, but now are covered with things like armor and weapons to protect themselves.
* If you enjoyed co-op in the first title, you'll be happy to know that you'll be enjoying four player co-op in the sequel.
* Dynamic Civilian Events (Example: A man trying to sell something in the day, getting marauded in the night. And the Agency will put up signs saying “play dead when you see an Infected”.
* Skill orbs are obtained by using skills that are relevant to your Agent.
* 16 player multiplayer has been confirmed with special weapons, bonus, and gadgets. There's also a nice progression/ranking system involved in the multiplayer.
* A variety of melee attacks are included in the game.
* The zombies/freaks evolve over time, making them incredibly more difficult to beat as the game progresses.
* Day and night situations vary, as you're more likely to encounter the "freaks" at night making missions harder.
* The city decays over time due to the infection.
* New vehicles are included this time around, including a helicopter.
* New weapons are included as well such as a shotgun and rail gun.
* A more precise aiming/targeting system is included.
