pretty cool v. franchise mode head coaching staff

I'm currently in season 3 of my Bills chise and simmed to the end of the season to get a sneak peek on some of my players progression.

So the contracts for my head coach and offensive coordinator ran out and as I'm scrolling down the list I start seeing names of former players who retired in the chise

Zach Thomas, Tedy Brushi, Derrick Mason...just to name a few.

Each coach that was a former player adds bonuses to the respective position they played while they were active in the league.

i.e. Thomas gives bonuses to your linebackers while Mason gives bonuses to your receivers.

Just something that I thought was very cool.

They had this the first year they brought in the coach ratings and such. Madden 04 I think?

My first player coach ever was Derrick Brooks on Madden 06 psp. He was decent

Coach ratings mean nothing. I hired Marvin Harrison he started as a 0 and week 2 he was a 50. They show no effect and the only thing is free agents usually favor high coach ratings but thats it.

Anyone else notice coaches always get fired even after a great season?

I never understood that. I think coaches having like one rating go +5 and then another rating as a -5 is a good idea, but to have a coach that does nothing but makes your players worse is a bit ridiculous.
