Sony's firmware 3.00 hit earlier this month, coinciding with the launch of the 120GB PS3. The update promised a revised look and the inclusion of dynamic themes, but it came with a bug that caused a slew of titles to lock up and freeze at random, most notably Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Fortunately, Sony just released firmware 3.01. It's an optional update, and you won't be prompted to download it, so you need to update yourself. While it isn't quite clear what the full extent of the 3.01 is, it appears it does fix the Uncharted freezing issues. Numerous reports have hit forums across the net the Uncharted now works, and as someone that suffered from the freezing issues personally, I can confirm that the issue appears to have been fixed from a quick playthrough.
The update comes at a perfect time - with less than one month to go until the sequel hits, now seems like the perfect time to run through the game for a quick refresher!
