Getting my 3rd 360...

My 2nd 360 finally got RROD. I plan on getting an Arcade version, since it is the cheapest and even has Hdmi. I'm sure most (if not all) have the Jasper chip, but is there a way to tell from outside the box? I read that there is a sticker, but somewhere else, I read that it no longer showed the wattage (you have to look at the power brick now). Still debating if I want to get it soon or wait for Xmas. My friend told me he has someone who can fix it, so I might go that route, if I wait for Xmas.

i have a feeling mine is gonna die soon. I notice it gets loud at times. Might just be the game i am playing cause i only notice it with madden.
But shit, i had this one since march 2006. It RROD once with a 12 day repair time. I think i got my moneys worth from this console. I play the shit out of so its all good.

Yeah the xbox that MS sent to me that they replaced my launch one with is having disc reading problems.....it is 2 years old. I think I am going to give it to my brother and pick up one of these Holiday Bundles. I have 2 360's one in the living room and one in the smaller gaming room.

When the girlfriend is not around I like playing in the living room...nicer TV and more space

btw aggie, the falcon set is still in the stores. you probaly want to look for the jasper set. It should say it on the console. Look for the opening in the box to veiw the label on the console before you buy. You can also try the towl trick and it will most likley work for the time being. When i did the towel trick it would work for 3-5 days before i had to do it again

the processor is smaller on the jasper, but i know all consoles now have the new heatsinks to prevent the heating issue that disrupted the connections....which is the main cause of most rrod

I tried the penny trick and so far it has worked. I don't have any expectations of how long it will last but since I don't play hours at a time, I am hoping till Xmas. I've been offline for so long that I am having to update my system.

A little to pricey for me (right now)....especially when I think how they screwed people over who had elites and turned them in for fixing.....sometimes getting white ones back (since the consumer was to keep the Hard Drive).

i have that TV...its one badass 95 inch hdtv
