Well I've had my PS3 for about 2 years now as well. Bout 3-4 months ago the fan really started to kick in pretty loud as soon as I'd start a game. Like right now whenever I boot Madden up it's quite, but as soon as I start a game I can hear the fan kick in. I really started to worry the first 2 months when it started, still dust it off and vacuum the vents, etc. at least once/twice a week. Praying it doesn't bite the dust and stop anytime soon.

A co-worker of mine had the same thing happen to him...said he found a video on Youtube showing how to fix it. He was able to repair his by following the directions on the video.

I read somewhere that it's just the 40GB or whatever that get the YLOD, so I imagine the slims wouldn't get it.

Nah I know some people with 60 and 80GB's who have got it before.

Yeah same thing happened to mine. Yours might be close cept I really never cleaned mine out like that.
