Mo Williams at 77 is absurd... He's way too high. He was only an all-star because Nelson got hurt.

lol @ James Harden being as good as Michael Redd.

I don't feel like bitching about anything else (there is plenty to bitch about) but I just thought that was funny

says the guy with the lebron avatar, and all the cleveland, ohio teams in his sig.

          take off the homer hat.

But I digress, for how high the rookies are, it really doesn't make sense for guys like Mo, Redd, etc to be as low or nearly as low as them.

Keep in mind roster updates through the year will change these ratings immensely.

For example, your favorite veterans (redd,mo) will inevitably put up better numbers than the rookies and there ratings will increase. I'm sure of it.

I'm VERY anxious to see the october 6th roster update. I'm sure 2k is catching tons of shit for the new rating system but I reaally think this year overall's mean little.

The important ratings are the individual offense, defense and rebound ratings.

Notice the 3 highest players in the game, (kobe, lebron, and wade) are versatile players who can score, gaurd any counterpart effectively and so on and so on.

I like the new ratings.. but the only problem I have is Rose at a 80.

            He should be a 85

Rose is not on the same level as Tony Parker and Chauncey Billups.

you guys complaining about rose are rediculous.maybe he should be a little higher, but putting him at 85 gives him the same rating as billups. Billups> Rose

Durant an 82 is WAY worse then rose as an 80.

There is always a roster update as soon as u get the game, hopefully Rondo and his rediculous 87 overall rating goes down. the fact that he is rated in the top 10 makes me want to find 2k developers and back hand the shit out of them
                      how is Lewis low?

I think the days of people being rated high because they do one thing well is gone.

FACT- Lewis is an outstanding outside shooter...but what else does he do well? he's not a good defender, he's a decent rebounder...he doesn't block shots, he's not really good on the dribble drive...I think he's rated where he is.

Someone like Rondo is rated high because he does a lot of good...I saw his inside is pretty decent for a PG and his outside shot is around a C....that's good...but I bet his steal rating is high, his block rating is rather high for a PG, his passing is high, his dribble is high and rebounding are bound to be high.

Someone like Roy who is 87...he can shoot, drive, dish, play defense...etc...that's why he's up there.

Durant i bet gets penalized because he's not a good defender.

Exactly. So many players who are being argued about right now are pretty one dimensional when you come to think about it.

Noone is arguing kobe, lebron or wade because quite frankly, like I said in an earlier post, they do everything. scoring, shutting down their counterpart, rebounding, etc.

Look at Rudy Gay, dude's a pretty good scorer (ibnohe'snot), but he's a 77. Why? Can't play shit for D despite his size.

I could see Rose maybe an 82, hardly an 85 when you consider who else holds the rating.

Maybe not Parker... but his stats were damn near Billups in the regular season.

Billups averaged 1 point per game better, and a steal per game. Rose had a better FG%, 1 more rebound per game. The Assists were equal.

So if Billups is an 85, how is Rose not a 82 or 83?

again take what those guys do well...

Billups is a top shooter at the PG position...can pass well, can rebound decently, back to basket he can play and he plays defense.

Rose is FAST, can get to the rim, can pass decently, can rebound but he isn't a good shooter, especially from the outside...his mid range is getting there but he's nowhere near in terms of what Billups is. Again I can bet that's where he lacks and where his OVR isn't as high.

I think Lewis is a tad underrated, but I'm not going to bitch about it (Magic homer)... but Nelson on the other hand was one of the top point guards last season pre-injury. I think he's better than Kidd for sure, but I'm not going to bitch.

Rose is a 2nd year player, which means he doesn't get the "veteran respect" but I don't think he's on the same level as Parker or Billups yet. He will be a lot better as the season goes on... Everyone is complaining about a hometown player not being as high as they want, but these ratings are going to change. You could even argue how bad Marcin Gortat is rated compared to guys like Hansbrough, Dalembert, Kurt Thomas!? or Marc Gasol, but I won't because he's a backup to the best center in the NBA so I guess his rating is justified.
