Yakuza 3 coming to the U.S.?

Originally Sega said this game definitely wasn't going to be localized and come to the U.S. but now it looks like those plans might change...
Citing unnamed sources "close to the project," 1Up reports that localization on Yakuza 3 is underway and the PlayStation 3 exclusive will be released in U.S. and European markets.

I've never played the first two but I've heard they are really good games that didn't sell well. If this game comes here I'll definitely get it along with the originals.

Hell, maybe Sega could package the trilogy on one blu-ray?

Played the first one, but it got boring after awhile. It was basically Shenmue in a Yakuza world. Minus the having to keep a job part.

They need to bring the first two first. This would be like starting in the middle of a movie.

          The first two were here.

They were solid games I just had a tough time getting into them.

Too bad my PS3 isn't backwards compatible.

              Mine is. :inlove:

But, like I said, it would be pretty cool if they could put all three games on a blu-ray. Seeing as how the first tow didn't sell well as stand alone games maybe Sega could get behind a marketing campaign by pushing it as a trilogy on one disc. Kind of like Metroid, although Yakuza is no where near as popular.

just saw this game at IGN and gamespot. Both gave a "great" score
                IGN gave a 8.5

                9.0 Lasting Appeal
It took me 20 hours to beat the story and the stat screen said I had only done 11 percent of everything I could do. Adventure mode, premium playthrough, karaoke bars – all of this is there to explore.
                Gamespot gave an 8

                  Damnit

I'd actually like to go back and play the originals, but 3 looks like it blew the first two out of the water.

Which one? The first one ended by you finally making it to the fucking boat that's going to Hong Kong.

Yeah first one ends you go to Hong Kong. I got a copy of the 2nd one for Xbox, but it was pretty badly scratched so it was unplayable.

I posted this in another thread but I couldn't stand the demo. This game is definitely not for me. I'm glad I didn't buy into the "hype" and pick up the first two games. Way too Japanese for me.

For people that do enjoy the series I've heard that Sega decided to remove the hostess bars from the U.S. version. That's fucking stupid. Their reasoning was that only Japanese culture knew what the fuck they were and would understand the point of them anyway. Hey, guess what ass hats, the people that are buying this game are obsessed with Japanese culture. Fucking idiots.
