its annoying too. I cant use my hdd to install full games. Now if i have a 120 gig or even a 80 gig ps3 then i dont mind so much. But with a 20 gig its a pain in the ass

im not about to buy a new 360 just because.....i will wait for mine to die before i do that

MS doesn't steal anything.

If I remember there is like 5 gigs total you simply won't be able to use. Of that only 2 or 3 gigs have actual microsoft stuff on it. The 2 gigs is simply the way hard drives work.

BTW I think I might hold off on buying this. Its coming out like 2 weeks before MW2. Should of just pushed it back to like march or something lol.

if my hdd is clean it will only have 12.8 gigs of free space. The rest is taken up by MS and their BS....so thats almost have of the space of the hdd being used by MS.....call it what you want, its still BS

I have the 20-gig HD.

I have been waiting for the rumoured 1-terabyte drive they're going to release, instead of buying the 120-gig.

Right now, the only game I have installed is Tiger 10, but I could easily uninstall it and play it off the disc, if need be.

You're wrong Leaf. Maynard is only slightly wrong. If you delete all of the nonsense on the HDD the most space you can possibly have is 13.1 GB. That's bullshit. That's what, 56% of the advertised space? I know all hard drives use up some space for certain shit but when 35% of it is unusable that is complete bullshit. Did you know that the same thing happens with their bullshit memory cards? I bought one of their old I think it was a 52MB card because that was all they had at the time. I bought it to try to transfer some saves that were clogging up my HDD becuase I was running out of space on my measly 13GB drive and was trying to transfer some saves to my wife's 360. Not only would some saves not copy but I discovered that the memory card only had like 36MB of actual space. WTF?!? Why does any space need to be used on a fucking memory card?!?
The bottom line is that MS's proprietart peripherals are 1)bullshit and 2)WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY overpriced. Everyone in the gaming media still talks about how ridiculous the HDD and wireless adapter (a feature that is built in to the Wii and PS3) is grossly overpriced.

The rumor is of a 500 GB drive and knowing M$ it will cost at least $250. There is also a rumor of a new Wireless-N adapter which will probably take place of the current adapter and still cost $100. Bank on it.

MS advertises a 20, and 120 gig hdd. But they dont tell you they are talking 1/3 of the 20 gig drive for there BS. Its not my fault you dont know what your talking about

Well 320GB drives generally will give you around 297GBs.

My 250 currently shows 232 available.

My 1TB has 931GB available.

my 300 has 300, my 200 has 200...maybe you should format the drive and then get back to me. If your gonna post BS to validate your point then at least make it believable. If you bought a new 1 tb drive and it doesnt have 1 tb available then you clearly added somthing to it. or failed to mention that its a master drive
