NHL 10 roster update #1 & new tuner set

    Now available.

Also gonna be doing bi-weekly updates. About damn time.

The first update has 18 new players on NHL rosters. These players are:

    Atlanta Thrashers - Evander Kane
    Buffalo Sabres - Tyler Myers
Colorado Avalanche - Ryan O'Reilly, Matt Duchene
    Dallas Stars - Jamie Benn
    Florida Panthers - Dmitri Kulikov
New York Islanders - John Tavares
New York Rangers - Michael Del Zotto, Matt Gilroy
    Ottawa Senators - Erik Karlsson
Philadelphia Flyers - Mika Pyorala, James Van Riemsdyk, Johan Backlund
San Jose Sharks - Benn Ferriero
Tampa Bay Lightning - Victor Hedman
Toronto Mapleleafs - Viktor Stalberg, Jonas Gustavsson
    Vancouver Canucks - Sergei Shirokov

Here are the changes for the tuning update that was just posted (V1.02 for offline changes):

-Goalie and shot tuning to reduce exploit goals.
    -Increased frequency of interference calls.
-Increased chance of CPU fight if user instigates aggression post-whistle (offline only)
-Tuning to teamplay ratings (Be A Pro, EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Acceleration and puck control tuning (EASHL & ranked OTP). The puck carrier will now have slightly less agility and acceleration than other players and will lose the puck a bit more easily.
-Increase poke check effectiveness (EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Slight decrease skating speed when stick lifting (EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Increased chance of unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for fight instigation while the clock is running (online only)

The first update happened before the launch, so these are the differences between the demo or the un-updated disk version (so V1.00 does not have these changes, but V1.01 and after do):

-Increase the effect of the Pass Accuracy slider
-Increase speed loss doing the Leg Kick
-Tuning to reduce effectiveness of an exploit goal using slap shots near the goal line
-Move default shot aim further inside the posts to reduce the number of posts and missed shots
    -Reduce interference penalties
-Increase effectiveness of poke check to dig puck out of boardplay
-Passing improvements (improved assistance for speed of a pass that has not target)
-Fixed bug in the effect of toughness on intimidation

This isn't everything we currently have planned to do, there are a few changes building on top of these already in progress.

The interference calls are going to piss people off.

They better of tuned the goalies a lot.

Getting leveled over and over again around the net without the puck is getting annoying. It was like that last year too. Am I missing something?

Its one of my big defenses against the cross crease.

Two problems really. In OTP you have people just crowding the net and it really just destroys game play but on the other hand its one of the defenses against the cross crease when you can't get into between the players.

They didn't do the one fix I was hoping for and thats the computer taking dumb penalties in online games. Offline its fine because it adds the realism but online I shouldn't be handicapped because the computer wants to take hooking and slashing calls all the time.

Does the roster update say anything about fixing some of the lines that have been changed now since the season has got going?

Needed to get Kulikov before I started a chise.

I guess I can get going now.

Is anyone else not seeing the update? The only available roster for me is 9/14. It appears one other person at OS is experiencing this.

go into an OTP game and it'll make you download the roster update

So I've probably played well over 20 to 30 games now on this new tuner set.

I don't notice any difference. If anything the interference calls are even less now and guys are getting away with some complete bs. Cross crease is still the #1 way to go and we've found some new ways now to score.
