Should I get a PS3?

There isn't much difference between them unless you want a Blu-Ray player or an inferior online service, or the exclusives that PS3 has.

I do disagree with this to an extent. Game taste is up to the individual. Each console has their fair share of quality exclusives.

But in terms of hardware and features the PS3 destroys the 360 and I don't even think that's up for debate. Especially now since Netflix has landed on PS3.

I own both, I can say without a doubt that the ps3 is the superior machine, but I tend to enjoy my 360 more than my ps3, Of course this could be based soley on my personal preferences. The ps3 is great for movies and it plays games just as well as the 360 with one exception that I recently discovered and that was load times. I rented borderlands for the ps3 and between each location I was looking at a (at the minimum) five minute load time. It pissed me off so bad that I went and borrowed my brothers copy of borderlands for the 360 just to compare and low and behold the load times were half the time of the ps3 or more. Essentially they are the same thing, with the 360 being much more restricted in its uses and the ps3 being slow as shit. Plus my wireless seems to connect better to my 360 than it does my ps3... So Id say either way you go your gonna make out about the same. Supposedly the failure rate for ps3's isn't as bad as the 360's and Im almost certain the data backs that claim up so in the long run your better off with a ps3...

i think its just easier with the friends lists and parties and whatnot. i too dont notice any difference when it comes to lag or whatever.

I stand by my statement and can argue it. All 360 has that is remotely close to original is Gears of War. Halo is an average FPS, Forza is a wannabe GT, etc. PS3's exclusives are about way more than how pretty they can make a game. Even though they make the games amazingly beautiful they are developed well. M$ puts all of their money into shit talking and advertising. BTW anyone excited by Natal do know that it is a PS Eye knockoff. The PSEye can do everything Natal can with a software update.

5 minute load time on borderlands? i got about 30 second load times. It was definitely annoying after playing Uncharted 2 with no loading between cutscenes and gameplay. My main gripe with the 360 besides the reliability issues is how loud the machine is. I couldnt believe it was functioning normally when i played it was so loud i thought it was about to RROD on me. BOTH consoles have pros and cons most guys generally play the console that they have the most friends on.


I prefer the ps3 with games like Uncharted 2, free online service, and bluray player some people prefer 360 with Live, Halo, and a bigger user base. You cant go wrong with either system buck, its all in what you want out of the experience i guess.

How long was your install on Borderlands? Mine took about 5 minutes, maybe it didnt fully install on your HD is the only thing i can think of.
