Is there any word on any sort of franchise-like mode in the game?

They've always stressed customization and since the game comes with 56 teams (kinda much for a league no?) I'd imagine it'll be a mode that will be highly flexible. So pick however many teams you want and however long of a season you want, etc etc.
It could even go so far to have customized rules to the game but that's not something they've ever confirmed or denied.
I'll keep people posted as things come out and see if I can find exact quotes on what I just mentioned.Comment

The game features a multi-year season mode incl. drafting and scouting. We're not calling it Franchise right now because we know how fussy you guys are about Franchise mode. We will call it Franchise in the future when we feel we can meet all the expectations that that term evokes.
Hope that clears things up a bit.Comment

Least they are not bullshiting and saying "this is the most awesome franchise ever!!" I'm sure most people won't care if all they get is a normal "season mode".All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
"rammer" and "cummings"

The Madden team can quit and scrap everything they've ever made or plan on making.

I watched that video the other day and I was not impressed at all. The players just shuffle around slowly and the cut's/juke moves are laughable. The throwing motion is wacky/slow too. The tackling animations and overall presentation look good though.

I just hope these guys learned from APF.
That game would STILL get play if they had a franchise mode and full custimization of the league. Unfortunately, just playing through individual seasons gets pretty boring, and with a pretty limited way to build your team.Comment

I probably won't buy this game...why you might ask? Because, it won't have NFL licensing and I need my NFL players in a game!"Baseball is 90% mental, and the other half is physical. -Yogi BerraComment

I was giving a modest estimate. I agree that it will be more like two days, which is awesome.
I still say APF is a timeless game that I will never trade in. I plan on popping it in again very soon. Using old players was a great move. Too bad they couldn't completely fill out the rosters and too bad they didn't implement a legit franchise mode.
Also, too bad there were so many 'tards out there riding on EA's dick and the Madden "promises train" to even give it a chance.Last edited by Twigg4075; 02-08-2010, 05:33 PM.Comment
