I love Crysis 2 so far. The Campaign is exceedingly generic, but the way you can approach every scenario in like 10 different ways is great. Fantastic level design in that respect and the stealth is a lot of fun (sans the fucking suit grunting "cloak engaged" every fucking time I use it).

Thats why you should switch to Maximum Strength and go in feeling like a greek god.
I hate having to pull up the visor to see the multiple scanrios everytime and then it fucking pops up every single gun bad guy and ammo supply. Its way too clumpy. The suit is a waste of time because the "extra armor" works for about 2 shots then you have to get in cover and if you turn invisible any time you so a silent kill or shoot just 1 bullet it automatically uses up all your energy. Do not even get me started on this so called plot. It is as generic as they come. As of now I am just going through the motions to finish the game.

hmmm....that sounds interesting. When u say its generic what do you mean? i hate stories in FPS. It seems rather pointless to me

The suit isn't supposed to make you invincible lol. Also, silenced weapons use a lot less energy. Towards the end of the game I started to play like Solid Snake and just snuck past all of the bad guys.

It's an alien attack complete with a group of humans with shadowy intentions (i.e. - they want you dead).
The dialogue isn't the worst I've seen, but it's pretty bad. It's just, you won't be surprised by anything. It's a story that's been told before. The design is what is impressive. I have completely multiple scenarios in ways that I have yet to read anyone completing them. I like stuff like that, even if it's somewhat unnecessary as a mechanic.
i love the idea of having many ways to complete a section. linear paths annoy me
can u give a little example? also, how many hours is the SP mode supposed to be?
All of the review sites say that its around 12 hours. I beat it on the hardest difficulty in a little over 8 though. The last few levels I tried not to get into any firefights at all though.
360 always locks ups exclusives because that is the only thing 360 owners care about.
There isn't any exclusive content on Crysis 2 that I'm aware of. And I believe the PS3 version won out in the Lens of Truth battle FYI.

Yeah, that was the best part about the game. But Being able to abuse stealth was a bit ridiculous.

Buzz is actually right. Even after upgrading the armor it was still pretty worthless. Whereas stealth is too overpowering. Very unbalanced.

Well if you don't care about the stories (why play a campaign then?) Crysis 2 should suit you fine.

Yeah, I think it took me around 12 hours on my first playthrough on Normal. When I played through again on Hard and just abused stealth it was probably around 8 hours.
SO glad to hear the game is 8 hours. Maybe playing this right after Bulletstorm clouds my judgment though. Bulletstorm is one of my favorite ones and then going to this ultra serious shooter just feels blah.
In the first crysis and even in warhead the max strength part was a little overkill and you literally became a little tank which could absorb a ton of bullets. They probably tonned it down a bit to balance that problem since the game was pretty easy at some points with it on.
I will say bitching about lack of story is quite hilarious. Crytek isn't really know for their innovative stories or dialog in games. In Far Cry some of the best parts involved Jack and his terrible one liners he said. Although crysis warhead did have better dialog with the character in that game mainly because he was funny as hell and cracked a lot of jokes.

I thought the story was fine. Honestly, the graphics were great and a lot of time was spent perfecting that, as well as the multiple paths throughout each level. Its not going to win any sort of yearly award for a story, but it gets the job done. I did not like the ending though, with the appearance of a new character right at the end.
Also, I will agree that the suit was not balanced correctly. I never played the first Crysis, but it looks like the first had the same issue, just the opposite way. The gameplay is designed for the suit to be used as a hit and run tactic, and it worked for that. My beef with it was that, running away and hiding with low power, enemies hardly pursued you. I constantly found my strategy was hiding to recharge the suit, and I could even check an email or text on my phone and not be disturbed.
Finally beat it, and have to say that the stealth was DEFINITELY unbalanced. THe beginning of the game was the best/most challenging part. Granted, I played the whole thing from the word go on the hardest difficulty, where any fuck up gets you killed but, still the beginning felt like I was using my stealth as realistically as possible.
By the end of the game I was just fed up with killing aliens and thus just beebopping right by them with my ridiculously overpowered camo.
Still, did really enjoy the game. It's polished (for the most part), and the level design is great. Not worth $60 I'd say, but still very, very good.
