Yeah, I had trouble with it when I played it. Didn't finish it mostly because I was a little burned out on AC at the time. Will probably go back and finish now. It's just that there isn't much of a reason to, other than they turned off the counter things (which I loved about hard mode on AA).

I have been playing through and immensely enjoying Deadlight, despite some of its shortcomings. Not sure if it will prove to be worth 15 bucks, but as a fan of the Out of This World/PoP genre I am happy with it.

Playing through it? It's taking more than one sitting?

By the way, did you ever rebuy Syndicate? We need a more reliable fourth on Xbox or just a plain fourth on PS3. Game fly had it for $10 the other day.

I like it in small doses. Some of the platforming shortcomings are too irritating to keep at them (sort of like Trials) so it's taking me longer. I am about halfway through though.

Haven't gotten Syndicate yet. Maybe I'll check it out tonight.

It did seem like the controls weren't very precise when I played the demo. You had to really take your time to make sure you did things correctly, which is nerver racking when zombies are closing in on you. But I guess that did that on purpose.

I need a time sink for the 3 weeks between summer and fall classes. I'm trying to find a good current-gen RPG that isn't Skyrim/Fallout/Mass Effect/Deus Ex, but there doesn't really seem to be too much that's very appealing. I'm looking hard at The Witcher 2, and Resonance of Fate looks interesting albeit complicated as hell.

Sorry, didn't get to go too deep into in the CB. The Witcher 2 is amazing, and not too hard to get into, as I said. It can be a difficult game at times though, challenge wise, even on Normal. Easy isn't too bad, and probably the best way to play it if you aren't looking to fully delve into the combat possibilities of the game. The story is fantastic, and choice does matter and influences outcomes very far down the line (removing the "I'll just restart and 'fix' my decision" part that most "CHOICE MATTERS" games have). I personally could not recommend it enough.

Have you played the Witcher 1? You really don't need to to enjoy 2, but I'm just curious.

No I haven't, I was a little interested in it at some point but I think I watched the Zero Punctuation review of it and it killed any positive impression of it lol (in case you haven't seen it). I am sold on the Witcher 2 though, I have been looking for a deeper experience than the majority of console action-RPG's bring. I don't think there is, but just in case is there any anti-used protection?

I think I'm going to get Lost Odyssey as well, since it looks like the RPG antithesis of The Witcher and the only major gripe reviewers seem to have with it is that its too derivative of Final Fantasy and does nothing new, but I've never played a Final Fantasy other than like 5 hours of VII, so it will be a fresh experience for me.

I actually really liked Lost Odyssey, despite not really caring or liking JRPGs anymore. It was very old school, but that shouldn't matter to you since you don't have much experience with the genre. The short stories included in the game (written by a Japanese novelist IIRC) are fantastic. Much better than the actual story, which I at times called "Gay Odyssey". Still, worth a play through I think. It's like 80 hours though I think, even without grinding.

I have seen the Zero Punctuation review. It is pretty on point, but in his typical fashion a little over the top. It's worth a play if you can get it on the cheap, but it is WAY more inventory/menu intensive than 2, so I wouldn't recommend it for what you're currently looking for.

I got 'em both. It looks like Amazon put the price for the Witcher 2 back from $30 to $46, but since I already had it in my cart it stayed at $30, but also it's not supposed to ship for 2-3 weeks. So I don't know what the fuck is going on with that.

I guess the plan will be to try to beat Lost Odyssey in 2 weeks (welp) then just gradually chip away at Witcher 2 and try to get as far as I can before Borderlands 2 comes out.

I have a few times since it's the best balance of convenience and fair pricing overall that I've dealt with. I've never had a game rejected but I have had books get sent back before because of them not being good enough quality.
