I bought NASCAR The Game 2013 on the PC -- what a huge turd that was. I spent maybe an hour on the game. Couldn't get my G27 to calibrate correctly, and I couldn't even play with a controller. Just awful.

But speaking of NASCAR, I had a couple great races on iRacing today. I avoided a total of six wrecks between two races. Here's some videos:

I don't know about anyone else here but NASCAR 09 was really a great game online, I'm dying for a another game like that on consoles.

I just saw that they patched in the Daily Challenge for the PS3 Version of Spelunky.

Saved my evening.

They need to patch in ONLINE co-op.

Holy crap, no idea how you didnt hit that guy lol. Ive been out of the loop on racing games on PC for quite some time but did hear about iracing. You pay a monthly subscription to play that game and the game is housed on their server? am I reading that right. When I was making the decision to get an xbox one I was thinking if I could find a good racer on PC I would hold off on getting forza 5 for awhile but couldnt find what I was looking for

Yeah that's right. iRacing is quite the money pit, because on top of the subscription fee, you have to pay for cars and tracks. Basically, you start out with six or seven cars and five or six tracks. If you want to really progress through iRacing and race at higher levels, you have to buy the vehicle(s) used at the next level. That's on top of buying tracks used in the series. So essentially you're looking at:

• $15/month (Note: they typically have great deals though. I bought a 2 year subscription for $100)
• $12/track
• $15/car

Huge money pit. However, the racing is unmatched. Forza and Gran Turismo are great and all, but those are still essentially video games. iRacing is a simulator through and through. It is the first "game" that has gotten my adrenaline flowing since the days of SOCOM II. I think it's well worth the money. However, if that price is a little steep, there are other great sim racers on the PC:

• rFactor 2
• Assetto Corsa (early access game on Steam)
• RaceRoom Racing Experience
• Live 4 Speed

Finally devoting a little time into XCOM: Enemy Unknown and I'm finding myself thinking that my first set of Squaddies are gonna get their shit wrecked at any moment.

It's on normal, I can reload whenever I want and I'm breezing through the tutorial.

That being said, I've seen enough footage online of this game to know that these poor souls are going to meet a tragic end sooner, rather than later.

...nothing like a dry run before I start posting a playthrough here.
