I started to dig underground and don't know what I'm doing (haha). Are they levels or do these different environments merge together while you move around?

Edit: I started to watch YT vids and learning some stuff. I didn't even think of pressing Select to bring up a map. Looks like I found a game to waste hrs on, while on the couch or right before bed. I now know why people are hooked o Minecraft...can't wait for that to hit the Vita.
I don't know how much the YT vids addressed on how to "progress" in the game, but it honestly has a lot more direction than Minecraft. The big first step is to collect lenses from the flying eyeballs at night. Then, you'll need to find a demon forge and you can make an Eye of Cthulu. Using this (ONLY USE IT AT NIGHT OR YOU'LL DIE INSTANTLY!) will summon the first boss, this giant eyeball. He can be pretty tough, so either way you have a lot of mining ahead of you. I would recommend at least Silver Armor if you don't trust your dodging abilities.

From there, I won't spoil anymore, but basically you summon the first two bosses with items that you find, the first, as I said, with an item you get from the lenses. You can resummon them as well, and effectively grind them if need be. The following two bosses are one time things. The second one, I still haven't beaten, and I've logged a TON of time in that game.

Do you remember if a pop up screen telling you how to do this (summon bosses) shows up? Also, if you miss it, is there somewhere else you can find it...like in the menus.

edit: if the guide was the only source...I'm screwed.

I am pretty sure that there was no pop-up, but I played the PC/360 version. If you physically mean to summon bosses, once you've found a demon forge and made the item in question, it's as simple as using it like you would anything else.

Anyway, for reference, most of what I learned, I learned from here:

The game is purposefully pretty scant on details. Sort of like a "find your own way" approach, like Minecraft.

Minecraft and Terreraria, two games I will never give any fucks about. I just can't get into that stuff.

No joke man, I think that you would actually really like Terraria. It's like a SNES game and way more Minecraft light than anything. It's focus is much more building better weapons to take on harder enemies than just the Legoish focus of Minecraft. It can just be a little impenetrable at first.

If you got it when it was free, I really think you should give it a shot at some point. Don't let Minecraft taint it (I say that even as a fan of Minecraft).

Still working on yet another Mass Effect Trilogy run (dunno why other than I saw a bunch of people starting to stream it again online and I got the itch...).

Managed to work my way through Feros as well as part of Noveria and basically did every side-mission up to that point that was made readily available to me.

...power-leveled to LvL 45 as a result, having access to VIII and above-Tier gear that I shouldn't really have works wonders for everything thus far.

And after I started the Peak 15, I even got the trophy-pop for dragging Ashley along for most of the game w/ me.

Seeing how I did it all in less than 2 days real-time, I should start a racing league or something.

Too much free time on my hands.

I can't believe that you have as many deaths as you do in Spelunky AND are doing this other stuff. Your death total exceeds my Steam and 360 totals combined, and I've had the 360 version since the day it released. And this is not for lack of dying on my part. Last night alone I died 5 times in a row in the caves, one time literally 5 seconds in.

I was just pulling your leg b/c you play the BioWare games so much (and I don't blame you, for the most part, they're awesome). I don't even know what these responses are getting at, tho.

A lot of times it's just eating shit before I get to the Ice Caves.

That and pissing off the Shopkeeper.

As for the other stuff, I put in most of my gaming on the weekend and after work in chunks.

                            I think the time for this run of ME1 has been over 2 weeks, give or take me leaving the game on idle;

Also, a LOT of the time, I'm hitting the "Skip" button during the cutscenes and dialogue unless it's something I haven't seen before (like what happens if you talk to Kaidan and he immediately doesn't glomp onto you.)

No coffee in the morning and I take every perceived slight like a personal attack on Twitter... I gotta say something.

                              I'm sorry.

Also, when are we going to do Podcast 100?

I'll put up a thread tonight and we can start discussing what we want to do for it. Maybe try for the weekend.
