It would be cooler if you couldn't actually buy packs with money or Microsoft points and you actually had to earn them by playing games and getting the coins. But maybe that's just me.

is it gay? or are you a person who's sour cuz you have no cash? A lot of people buy at least 3-4 packs. If you want to get the limited edition players you need a legendary pack, which is 9000 credits... or an 18-0 record in head to head winning by 50+ points.

major downfall is lobby cheese, next year we better be able to play our friends.
I have two teams, one that I bought a few packs, and the other I bought a pack and sold everybody off to get points for the players I wanted. Here's my starters for each:

              HB - Limited 2009 Jerome Harrison - 98 ovr

              LOLB - 2007 Mike Vrabel - 90 ovr
              MLB - Chris Gocong - 73 ovr

              ROLB - Clay Matthews - 85 ovr

              MLB - Clark Haggans - 72 ovr
              ROLB - Terrell Suggs - 90 ovr
              CB - 2004 Lito Sheppard - 90 ovr
              CB - Antoine Winfield - 91 ovr
              FS - Vincent Fuller - 72 ovr
              SS - Tyrell Johnson - 75 ovr

              K - Ryan Lindell - 79 ovr
              P - Michael Koenen - 83 ovr

I'm really hoping they have the rest of the 2004 Eagles secondary. I also hope they DON'T have 200-something Michael Vick, for the simple fact that playing people online would suck that way.

So, Madden 11 rolls around, you're going to be cool with having to spend money to unlock a feature? AFTER paying $60 for the game. You already see it with MUT, Online Franchise(free if you buy new) and Franchise mode accelerators. It's basically what MUT is. A micro-transaction cash scam. Its not "gay." Its plain sickening.

Not to bash you, but I find this statement(first bold) kind of ignorant. I agree that you shouldn't be allowed to buy cards. One, you don't know his person's situation, but regardless it puts everyone on an even playing field. 2. The more you play the better you can make your team. Having "no cash" has nothing to do with it. Some people, like myself may not see the need to purchase those cards even if they do have the funds. The way it looks now, you can have someone out there with a pretty decent team and everyone else with a starter team, but of course EA doesn't care about that. It's all about the $$.

(2nd bold) That's the beauty, imo, of BUILDING your team from the ground up. I guess I'm not a fan of the "Yankee" way of being able to build your team on Ultimate Madden

lol I lost my first 2 games vs the CPU, thats when frustration led me to buying a pack. Haven't lost since... still struggling to get the playbooks I want/need.

A fair warning to everybody... you can buy a great team, but you will NEVER be able to keep it... Ive started to disassemble my team. Having so many legendary players kills you, they have 4 game contracts and the only reasonable contract to give them is to buy the super contract which is 750 credits, best deal in the game IMO. Im going to keep Brady and Harrison on offense, other then that I prob don't need any legendary guys. And I'm trying to collect as many players from "The U" as possible. I'm bidding on 2004 Ed Reed... hes absolutely a monster! But he would be getting a super contract card.

This is more fun now that I'm not stressed about losing the guys I had lol.

I might be losing James Harrison soon. He's been the heart of my "defense".

I spent 2000 credits on Ed Reed, his value is 1500 so I overpayed but...

97 speed, 99 awareness, 84 catching, 96 pursuit, 99 play recognition, 86 man coverage, 99 zone coverage is worth it :horse: not to mention he from... THE U!

Just wondering, if one of your best players (or any player really) that you know you won't be able to sign back, you can auction them off when they have like 1-2 games left on their contract right?

i think being able to buy players takes all the fun out of it. it makes it a lot more interesting if you have to earn all of them with your coins instead.
