I had that one as well.

The only hing was it was WAY to easy to hit HR's in the game. I remember playing as the Cardinals and I think McGwire had like 48HR's through 25 games.

I saw Madden 94 for the SNES being sold the other day for .99 cents. I almost bought it.

NBA Live 95 and 96 were really good games too. I'm likely one of the few people who wasn't crazy about the Bulls vs Blazers/Lakers etc series. NBA Showdown(1994) was decent but the NBA Live series the first few seasons was fantastic IMO.

Yeah, even when you took off the ability to see the hitting reticule, it was still easy to identify pitches.

There was also the Ken Griffey code, where he would hit a home run if you made contact.

Just remembered in one of the NBA Live seasons you could do an expansion draft for the Toronto Raptors.

        Tree Rollins at center FTW.

This game was a gem... fuck the guy reviewing it. Pretty sure my brother and I had no game manual, and it took us 30-60 minutes to realize you had to charge the ball on the end then shoot it into the middle. Once that happened it was a good time.

                Dusty Diamond All Star Softball.

                FUCKING. AWESOME.

Under the radar game, but it was great. I remember all the players...Louis, the stereotypical fast black guy. I always put him in CF and batted him leadoff. Diablo, the power hitter who looked like a devil. Wendy, the witch who hit with a broomstick. I can go on and on. Great game, tons of strategy when picking your team and setting the lineup/positions. Every player had strengths and weaknesses.

Also can't forget Froggy, who used to hop around the bases. For whatever reason I always had him as my pitcher. My brother used Zelda on the mound.

The key was finding players with rocket arms, and throwing them in the outfield. The black guys were pretty good at that IIRC (Mikey). There was also some weird fucks who could float. Also one of the only games that had various parks that each ahd their own flair, like the field with no fences or the school yard where if you hit the glass windows you were out.

I hooked up the Genesis yesterday and played Tecmo Super Bowl. It is still awesome.

Baseball Stars (NES) and Coach K (Genesis) were the two biggest time sinks for me back in the day.

I would love to see a modernized version of Baseball Stars released for XBLA/PSN.
