Are you asking what armors are in the game? There's heavy, medium, and light. The only thing it really affects, besides damage per round, is speed.Comment

For those of you who have already played the massive online shooter MAG since its release on the 26th, you may have noticed that there is a significant shortage of headsets being used in game. I would say about 30%, maybe less, of the people I have played with are using headsets in game.
Now, for me, I don’t mind too much when the ordinary soldier isn’t wearing a headset, but when a squad leader, platoon leader, or officer in charge doesn’t have a headset, I get a bit annoyed. You see, the point of MAG is to be a FPS like no other game has done, and without communication and teamwork this ends up just being another Call of Duty with a whole lot more people at once. Communication is key in MAG, especially for those in charge. Leaders need to constantly be letting their squads know what needs to be done in order to ensure victory.
Zipper Interactive, it seems, feels the exact same way. According to a recent email from Zipper Interactive sent to Gamestops around the country, MAG will be requiring ALL participants to be wearing a headset in order to play the game starting on February 10th. Hopefully this means they will be releasing a MAG game bundle with a bluetooth headset, but that is currently unconfirmed. I know that many people will be upset with Zipper’s decision, especially those who have already purchased the game and do not have headsets, but I for one think this is the right move. This will ensure that MAG becomes the game it is supposed to be: an army communicating and working together to achieve common goals.
Now for those of you who do not currently own Bluetooth headsets, and want to keep playing MAG, I have a few solutions for you. For one, I highly recommend the Sony PS3 Bluetooth headset. It works great, no static, and also works with most phones that are bluetooth compatible. You can find those discounted new and used on the Platform Nation Amazon Store. Just click on the link I just provided and type Bluetooth into the search bar on the right side and the PS3 headset will show up. For those of you on a budget, go ahead and click the link above and do the same search and you will be able to see a lot of different options that are cheaper for bluetooth headsets. Buying from the Platform Nation Amazon Store not only saves you a bit of money, but also helps out our site so we would really appreciate it here on P*N! Ok and finally, if you don’t see a headset you like on the P*N Amazon Store, there are tons of other options out there to find an affordable bluetooth headset. And yes, I did make 3 links to the P*N Amazon Store… ok 4 now, but it really does help us out! =)
Anyways, I hope this decision doesn’t put off a lot of people who are already enjoying MAG or prevent more people from purchasing it, because it really is a fantastic game! I hope to see (and hear!) all of you on the battlefield! Oh and one more thing… RAVEN FTW!!!

Hopefully this doesn't backfire, but it is a good idea.

wow thats a pretty ballsy move by zipper. theres way more people that dont have headsets that actually do.Comment

Zipper honestly doesn't care. I remember they did this same thing with SOCOM. The 1st one didn't come with a headset like the 2nd one did. In the end it worked out into becoming one of the best console online gaming communities

yeah but they are forcing people to buy a headset. so say you dont have one, on top of paying 60 dollars for the game your gonna drop at least another 30 (for a shitty usb one) to get a mic. thats kinda fucked up. they should split the server between people with mics and without. if you dont have a mic you can go play in silence with all the other people without mics, and let the people with mics play together.Comment

I'm still wondering how you don't have a mic on the PS3 by now. Might consider getting this in a couple weeks to play with you guys but i'm not sure tho.
