some of you may know that my launch 360 died and i picked up an arcade model for 200 (minus 40 in trade for the old console). I been wanting a new hdd but dont want to spend 150 for a new 120 and i dont want to pay 400 for an elite console.

well today i was at walmart looking at the elites just to try and influance myself one way or the other. I see the elite with 2 free games, pure and lego batman. I notice the price at 299, but it just didnt compute and i was thinking i wont spend another 200 for what would eqaute to a 120 hdd. I know i wont touch those games so the only benefit to the elite is the 120 hdd and for 200 buck i wasnt about to do that so i left.

guys i know from my shooter clan have been borrowing my hdd transfer cable over the past few months. I have shipped this thing around to like 4 guys i got to know online. Well another guy wants to use the cable so he posts on the forum. I replu and tell him to email his address but to make sure he sends it back quickly because i am shopping for a new hdd myself. He replies and tells me about the 299 elite he just got with 2 free games AND a $50 gift card.

I start to reply and say how i saw the same deal today but passed because i wasnt about to pay anothe 200 for just the hdd.........then i dawned on me. The elite is 299, NOT 399 you fucking retard. I would get the elite for only $100 more rather then $200 more as i first thought.

So its about 945 pm and i call the walmart to see if they have the system. Keep in mind i have to return my arcade to walmart cause that where i got it from. They are all out. I finally call a store that has 4 of them and now i am off.

i get there and get my cash for the return, get the new elite.....get to the cash register and pay....the girl then says, you also get a $50 gift card. I totally forgot about that and was like HEE FUCKING HAW!~

so at the end of the day i now have a 120 gig elite console and Pure and Lego Batman all for $250.....well, $210 if you remember the $40 trade i got for the old system......

oh, and i also remembered what a moron i am

Good deal for sure, I even looked at it myself when I was buying my first 360 this past week. But I passed since I had no interest in those games.

I want the 120-gig (or possibly the 250-gig) so I can install all my games to the hard drive.
Games in my 360 running off the disc drive are loud and annoying.
Off the hard drive, they're as quiet as the ps3.

It's been $300 ever since Sony released the slim at $300. MS had no choice. Their console was already inferior (you need batteries or an optional charge kit for the controllers, no wi-fi, no bluray, etc.) so they had to at least match the price.

It's been like that since the end of August/early September.

The two free games thing was a holiday bundle.

The fact that it's $300 seems at least $50 too much to me actually.

If you count the gift card, which is them giving u back free money, then its $250 bucks. No, u cant apply the gift card right then and there, but so what. Its not like you cant go back the next day and use the FREE $50 card and buy some other items that you would have bought without the FREE $50 card. Sorry i wasnt more specific in my explanation.

Most people were probably not Mis Led by my explanation because most people would know that if they are giving u a gift card with a purchase, that u would have to use it at a later date.

i mean who hasnt been to McDonalds and won a free soft drink. Its not like they allow you to use it with that purchase. I guess next time i should dumb it down for people who might be Mis Led by the usage of a free $50 gift card that cant be used right then and there but may be used on your very next purchase. I should also mention the tax, which is different for your area because i dont want to Mis Lead anyone into thinking i was tax exempt on the DEAL

and when you use the word deal you are using it like i am saying i got some sweet weekend deal or something. I just said deal.....regardless of when this deal arrived, its still a deal.
