At least you have the choice to load games onto the HDD with the 360. Even though installs are almost non-existent now with PS3 games I still wish I had the option.Comment

Like Twigg said, the games you would get to download are probably just Sony-sponsored games with no 3rd-party titles.Comment

I've been wanting this forever and a day now...can't wait for it to become a reality. Let's see how much money Sony gets from me once this idea comes to fruition.

If they do decide to do this I hope they don't go MS's route and overprice things. The bottom line is that if you charge more for a digital copy of a game that someone could get much cheaper used in a store, you'll end up with the same pathetic sales as 360's Games On Demand.
I would love to try out the Yakuza games. I've never played them and they are a bit rare. They are still a bit expensive even used. If Sony could sell those games for say $12-15 they might be on to something.Comment

i dont understand what owning the old game has to do with a DL made available. Are u guys thinking that if u have the disc that u should be able to pop it in and DL the the game for free?
i wouldnt count on that. Just because u have the ps2 game on a disc doesnt mean they will give u the DL for free. Thats almost like saying i have the disc, but it wont play, can i have a new one for free.
