Sony to discontinue downloads of PS3 games

And in a related article to the possibility of PS2 games coming to PSN...
While Sony is warming to the idea of releasing more PS1 and PS2 games on the PlayStation Network, those hoping for more PS3 games being made available for download might want to find something more constructive to do.

It makes sense. I know some people love the accessibility but full games do take up a ton of space. I'm guessing they aren't selling well either.

I honestly never understood it. Why download something when there is a physical option? If it was cheaper I could see the argument but the prices are identical. My buddy downloaded SOCOM and I still don't see the logic.

And even though MS has been pushing digital downloads it's been rumored that sales have been pretty paltry.

yea why download when you can get a physical copy. You'd never lose it.

The only full titles (that weren't PSN exclusive) that I saw were SOCOM and some shit for the EyeToy.

Waste of money unless you were a huge SOCOM head to begin with or decided against the Wii for motion-sensored gaming.

Burnout Paradise was a huge one.

Main reason for companies to push online games is for "impulse buyers". if they can buy that shit then and there, they won't have time to think about it. Makes sense for ps3 to stop it though, with blu-ray hitting 50 GB..

I also never understood downloading something you could actually touch and have a case for. Meh, to each there own. What makes me excited in this article is the possibility of PS2 "classics" being available to download. I've been waiting for that forever now.

But there's one other problem. What if you're console breaks and the DRM doesn't transfer over, like in the case of the 360? I still know tons of people that can't play certain games unless they are signed into Live. Bullshit.
