Microsoft ends support for Xbox Originals

The most notable is Halo 2. I'm pretty sure tons of people still play (played) that game. I've also heard that the whole reason for the 100 cap limit on your friends list was due to Halo 2 limitations.

If that's true hopefully we can at least get a bigger friends list out of this.

the 100 cap was due to original xbox games still being a part of the XBL system from what I've read.

Be it Halo 2 or whatever the reason, definitely should be possible going forward.....but then again I don't think I've had 100 people on my list that I couldn't pick one to drop.

wow, surprised they still allow people to play these games online. i figured only stuff like halo was online. But then again i can still play an online game of nfl2k5 if i wanted....not anymore

Sorry, although that's under debate as well. I tried playing the first Mercenaries a while back. I swear the emulation on those games sucks dick! The game constantly froze and had all sorts of little annoying glitches.

I wouldn't be surprised if they went Sony's route and did away with those as well. Apparently they have been selling like do-do.

Isn't Battlefield 2 one of the downloadable games? Why would anyone in their right mind want that game now that there is no online? That's all that game was.

Well it certainly isn't Halo 2.

You're right Twigg, the emulation is awful. I don't understand why they don't just do away with it altogether. Unless you're going to add Achievements, there really is no point, particularly with the shitty emulation.

Exactly! I still have no idea why they didn't implement those in the downloadable versions at least. Achievements are a GOLD MINE for Microsoft. That is one thing they should try to utilize to the fullest.

And on a related note, I have no idea why the XNA games don't have them either. I bought a few of those games but realized quickly they were pointless without sweet, sweet achievements.
