what I noticed is with some tweaking it could be incredibly realistic... its just the fact that when the guys make a tackle you see the ball carrier just turn into a dummy or something and go rag doll.

like, I don't know how you fumble on someone tackling you in the feet, but I understand that this can't be a finished form of the game.

its just this is all I've heard about, and I haven't seen ANYTHING other then those 2 or 3 videos, and those 2 or 3 videos have been out for months now.

I think this game is still happening, I don't know why they are keeping so hush hush about it. Maybe they are waiting until around the time madden comes out? It does look sick though.

APF failed because of the lack of NFL teams.... I don't put backbreaker any higher.

APF was a pretty good game, it wasn't any better then Madden, but it was just as good, the lack of the NFL liscence killed it.

so I'm not inclined to believe that gameplay is going to help out Backbreaker that much, maybe Backbreaker will be an absolutely incredible game, I just hope they can survive that first year and build up enough of a base to actually gain enough money to make a second game.

2K had a legitimate loss after APF, and 2K had a pretty good fan base before they lost the license.

2k8 tried to compete with Madden.

Backbreaker is not competing with Madden because it's not the same as Madden or 2k8 for that matter.


Chase cam football, not the standard you see with football games currently.

They've also said 11 vs 11.......now I don't know if that meant 11vs11 online? Some of the dev guys mentioned playing various positions in their twitter. It could have simply been to quell the rumours that this game wasn't going to have 11 players per side. Not sure yet.

You'll see modes like Tackle Alley (the video) and such. I don't believe they have designs to build out a GM style franchise mode and things like that, it seems they have no interest in doing what Madden does.

If they were smart they would beat madden to the punch and do 6v6 online ala NHL 09 and the EASHL. 11 man teams but only 6 human controlled, cause who really wants to play offensive lineman. If they made the unis and players really customizable I think they would have a hit.

they haven't gone official with releasing info.....coming in May.


but they suggested 11 vs 11 and stated they had some great solutions for online.

with this game, playing OL may not be so bad......but I'm sure 11 v 11 wouldn't be forced if that was the case.

Agree to disagree because I think APF destroyed Madden in almost every facet imaginable. It's a shame it sold so poorly just because of the lack of the NFL license.

I'm sure this game with garner a lot more attention once some quality media starts to roll out.
