Got bored and started a Man City save for the hell of it, knowing it would likely be the easiest task ever.

And it was. Won the Carling Cup, lost to Blackburn (ew) in the FA Cup final. Did get knocked out in the Europa League Quarterfinals by Fenerbahce too.

Won the Premiership. Named Manager of the Year. It's a one and done for me, however, as I'm leaving to take the vacant Valencia position (even though I just bought one of their best players in Mata).

Technically, it's a 2-3-2-3, but yeah 5-2-3.

WBs, DM, the LCM is B2B (Milner), RCM is Advanced Playmaker - Support (Sneidjer/Barry/Yaya).

It's 1 striker, and 2 wingers pushed all the way up. Inside forward/attack on the left, inside forward/support on the right, central striker's a poacher.

Both inside forwards, and the B2B had their through balls set to often, wingbacks set to hug the touchline, support forward set to cross often as well.

It's a very fluid - attacking philosophy/strategy, with shorter passing and more expressive for creative freedom, but also very aggressive defensively. Closing down set to press more, tackling set to more aggressive, with man marking.

We actually conceded the fewest goals in the premiership, at 26, while finishing second in goals for at 86. Granted, it is Man City, so it's not the biggest accomplishment in the world.

Definitely going to be interested in seeing how it plays out with Valencia.

I've been playing my Porto save the last couple of days and Hulk has been my best player by far. He has played in 34 matches so far and has 40 goals and 15 assists and 15 MoM's. I am only in February right now.

Just won the Liga ZON Sagres with Porto with two games remaining. Currently 26-2-0 and it looks like we will be finishing with no losses. Hulk is leading the league in goals (25) and assists (19) and MoMs (13). I'll post up team stats and league table when I finish the season.

I was thinking about a Porto save myself.

It's been pretty easy to dominate league play and the cups, but playing in Europe wasn't as easy. I got kicked out of the Europa League in the 2nd knockout stage to Juventus. We had tied the first leg 1-1 in Porto but then they dominated us 5-2 in the second leg. It'll be even tougher now that we got into the Champions League for the next season.

Who do you give player of the year award to in this situation?

Player A: 21 apps, 13 goals, 5 assists, 7.34 rating

Player B: 30 apps, 28 goals, 21 assists, 8.29 rating

Player C: 21 apps, 23 goals, 7 assists, 7.97 rating

 

Player A is Oscar Cardoza, player B is Hulk, and player C is Falcao. Cardoza won Player of the Year for the ZON Sagres and Hulk didn't even place second or third. I don't know how to explain this.

Start of the new season and I decided to set up a tour in England. I'll be playing Man City, Blackburn, Everton, and Liverpool. I'm also attempting to bring Paulo Ferreira and Deco back to Porto.

Just picked up my Newcastle save again, beat Tottenham handily the CL semi's, although Micah Richards get two yellows in the second half of the second leg, and Alex Teixeira got booked for dissent and misses the final as well. One game left in the league, I'm one point back on Man City who play Tottenham, and Man Utd are one point back on me. Then the FA Cup final right after. Three games and three chances at silverware.

I have a Hartlepool save going on right now. It's quite enjoyable.

Decided to give my Porto save a rest. Depending on the team I usually play one or two seasons and then switch to a different one (I'll eventually go back to that one after a season or two with teams like Everton or QPR). I'm firing up one with QPR. I had one started already with them but with the 11.1 or 2 update.

Pretty happy with my transfers, should have gotten a lot more from Wickham and Teixeira though.
