some nice things i notced. The batting view looks pretty cool with how you can see the base runners without the pip view.
also how the guys is in a 2-2 count and the stat overlay shows his career numbers from that count
graphically, the game looks excellent and i am enjoying the animationsComment

houtz nailed my thoughts on the pitching. analog control pitching is fresh and new and something i havnt been able to experience except on last years crappy version of 2k baseball. They did a great job with it and its extremely disappointing that the show doesnt have this feature.
meter and classic pitching is just so old and stale. you cant do much more with hitting and field, but we have seen this concept work with pitching and while the show will be an awesome game to play and will have a ton of bells and whistles, at the end of the day the fun factor and longevity will be determined by the gameplay (for me)
button pushing is also just too easy to master. The analog control forces you to be perfect in your motions...not just one motion, but to motions (or even 3 if you set it up that way). The button pushing with meter is nothing more than timing
when your off with your timing on the show is doesnt penalize you like it should. I found myself trying to figure out how being inconsistent with the meter would cause me to be inaccurate with my pitches.....i just could find any real measure of success or failure when i was off which made pitching even more of a let down.
thats why the league will be so much fun because you have the hum v hum chess match going on
note about the video....notice the cpu taking called strikes? something severely lacking in past games form 2kLast edited by Maynard; 02-18-2010, 09:06 PM.Comment

I honestly think the gameplay looks very similar if not identical to last year.
You could see it in how the SS fielded the ball.... I wouldnt be excited for this.

I just feel like theres still some of that clunkiness there that lead to the OF crap last year.
Also LOL at them calling that routine DP a candidate for play of the week

Couple of thoughts I had based on the video:
-Batting Camera: When batting you can see the whole field and it also seems like it is easier to detect a ball from a strike.
-Fielding Camera: Like how it isn't zoomed in as much. In the past 2k would always make it seem like the players were bigger than they should of been imo.
-CPU taking strikes and swinging at balls: As Maynard said this was something that 2k has always dropped the ball on in the past. From the looks of this video it looks like they improved it.
-Batters Eye: Like how you could see what pitch it was before it reaches the plate. Wondering how it works though because some pitches it didn't show up so I wonder if its like the guess pitch feature in the show.
-Outfield Throwing: Seems as if there was too much arc on that one throw to third base. Hopefully its not like that for every throw.Comment
