    Two Red Rings

Just today, I started getting two red rings. MS advises this is what happens when your console is over heating. It is in the same position it has been for over a year, with no problems. It's not warm in here, or anything else out of the ordinary. There is room on the sides and at the back for air to get in and out.

This is an XBOX 360, Halo 3 Special Edition console. Am I looking down the barrel of 4 red rings?

Now I can't even turn on my 360 without the lights. This is fucking terrible.

Try using the brush extension on a vacuum cleaner, and vacuuming out the vent holes on the 360...could be they're clogged up with dust, pet hair, etc. Maybe it will help.

Checking some things out it looks like your xbox is probably overheating pretty bad.

Most of the recommendations are to clean it out and let it sit in the open and see if that fixes it.

The exact same thing happened to my Halo 3 Edition 360. I had burnt out a chip in it or something like that so ended up having to get a new one.

I took some compressed air to it today, blew out a ton of dust. Seems to have just made things worse. I'll try not to touch it for a week and see where that leaves me

I got the 2 red rings on two separate consoles. On the second(the one I have currently) I opened it up and discovered the root of all dust. So I cleaned it, and it worked great afterward. You just void the warranty(mine has long since expired).

2 red rings=overheating. The first time I didn't want to pay to fix it(because 2RROD isn't covered by any warranty) so I lied and said mine had the 3RROD. They didn't even bother checking the console. As soon as they received mine, they sent out a replacement.

LOL thats the same scam I've been trying to do for a while.

Its so easy to fix some of these problems.

BTW I'll pay 30 and the shipping will be cheaper because I live in Canada
