For those that can't play offline however, they could have an argument I guess.

Not sure what Sony will do, but to hand out free PSN points is probably expecting more than what you deserve.

I just hope any game that you saved and it now has a date of 12/31/1999 doesn't get screwed up. I will be pissed to the max if that happens.

I just bought a 250gb about an hour ago. I read the forums about this error since my 60gb broke Saturday but I finally found a system after calling all over Houston. I didn't want to risk not finding one this weekend since The Show is coming out tomorrow.

Them having an outage of down online time shouldn't turn into a bonus for PSN users, it's a free service.

However those that can't play offline have a right to complain for something.

LOL @ these "PS3 Slim FTW" guys. If you own a Slim you most likely went years before buying a PS3. Your life was full of so much fail up until recently.

I predicted this failure and unloaded my launch day "fat" PS3 back around the end of December to a guy on Craigslist for a premium price due to backwards compatibility and then used the money to go buy a new 250GB Slim with dual shock controllers.

I didn't say anything because you guys wouldn't have believed me...LOL

Not for me. Had a 40 GB like 3 years ago. Hard-Drive fryed. Got another 40 GB. Disk Drive Broke. Got another 40 GB thats sitting around with YLOD. Then I got a slim. So yeah "PS3 Slim FTW"

In fairness, if they get this fixed in 24 hours it's NOTHING in comparison to the shitshow of MS' 360. 1 day of not functioning =/= multiple console failures + weeks of waiting for a new one.
