Missouri State is amazing for some reason in mine. After the first season they got two Mr.Basketball's and a 5 star recruit

My first test comes when I play Ok St.
Recruiting in this game is awesome, I love how you can recruit Highschool freshmen and shit. By the time they become seniors they are 5 stars.

Yeah I've been recruiting this center from overseas for a while and he started as a 2 star and he's a JR now and he's a 3 star. I expect him to be a 4 star by next year.
Just played probably the greatest game.
Playing at Ohio State, I've pulled off 5 wins in a row, including wins over ranked UConn, Illinois, and Minnesota. The first half is pretty even the first 14 minutes or so but Ohio State still had a little lead (I play 18). Then my SO PG Lewis Jackson goes up for a layup and comes down and has to leave the game. I look at the injury, Broken Ankle, 39 days. My only option to come off the bench is a red shirt Freshman SG, John Hart. Not the best for your team to put in but you'll have to deal with it. I end up being down 1 at halftime.
Second half starts, pretty even till about the 8 minute mark, where Ohio State makes a huge run on my bench. They end up being up by about 14 with 4:40 left, when Hart ends up getting a steal, and dishing it to an open shooter for a three. Next possession he hits a three, and then my starters come in. My freshman center hit two threes, and a foot on the line jumper in about 50 seconds. I end up coming all the way back when Chris Kramer gets a steal with 42 seconds left and hits the game tying layup.
Ohio State has the ball, just milking clock, and the once the clock hits 12 they start attacking the hoop, and then they dish it out to BJ Mullens for a three . So 5.9 seconds left and I have the ball. Throw it to E'Twaun Moore, who finds a WIDE OPEN Chris Kramer for three, but he missed it.
In OT, I just took over, Hummel hit two threes, Kramer got two layups and there were my 10 points. 102-96 win over the #5 team in the Nation.sig is too big, resize itComment

In year 4 with SFNY.
Started of 1-3, beat Stony Brook in the opener, then dropped 3 straight including a horrendous loss to Manhatten. I was up about 16, stopped trying and blew the lead and took a loss. Also lost to Fordham by 8.
I've been on a tear since then, winning 11 staright. I just blew out my biggest threat, Quinipiac (71 ovr, 11-3 during our game) by 15. My next game is against the Wagner, who is rated 73 overall but is sitting at 3-12. Nobody else in the league is rated over 70 (We're 75).
I've already cleaned up in recuiriting. I signed three 3-stars in-season...two of them are top 150 players (PF, SF) and a decent center. I also have a 4-star PG (#60ovr, #22pos) at 94 percent. If I sign him SFNY might not lose a conference game for 4 years (whether I leave or not).Comment

This will probably get deleted, but I am beasting with University of California Riverside in year 2.
So far in year 1 I am 3-0 with a buzzer beating win over Texas Tech, a blowout of Texas-Arlington, a 3 point win over Eastern Washington and a buzzer beating 3 point win over Gonzaga! Recruiting I have a lot of kids interested that I can pull within like a year or 2. Hopefully I can make a run this year for conference championships.
Fuck Northern Colorado, it's all about CALIIIIIII.Last edited by Rylo; 03-29-2010, 11:55 AM.

I just picked this game up again... it's been a while since I updated my progress in this thread. I had a word file recording all of my progress but when my laptop crashed I lost all of that, so here's the best I can do from posts on OS.(can someone move this to the Sports Gaming forum?).
Connecticut
2012-13: 23-10, lost in the second round. Had no backcourt whatsoever, so this was a tough season to grind out.
2013-14: 34-4, National Champions. Brought in 3 5* G's, all of which made major contributions right off the bat. Had a dominant frontcourt coming back and beat fellow Big East school Louisville in the NCAA title game.
2014-15: 33-5, Elite Eight. Had some remnants of the dominant front court left, and had a great season as my backcourt played outstanding.
2015-16: 38-2, National Champions. Just an overall dominant team. First one consisting of all my guys, and they were just unreal. Great backcourt, great frontcourt, on a whole 'nother level than most teams. Won the NC 108-66 over Washington State.
2016-17: 39-1, National Champions. Even better than last year's squad, and that's saying something. I'm pretty sure the lone game we lost was the only time we didn't win by double digits all year. This is the best team I've fielded to date in any basketball game.
2017-18: 26-9, Sweet 16. A rebuilding year for us with a couple of 4 year starters leaving the squad, but we still made a nice run in the NCAA's thanks to our dominating PF whose name escapes me.
2018-19: 29-8, Final Four. We had a SF named Connor (last name was something Jewish I think) who was just incredible. Won all of the major NPOTY honors and carried us to the Final Four on his back. We got beat by a better team in that game though, because we didn't have much offense outside of Connor.
At this point, Thad Matta finally got fired and I took over an Ohio State team coming off a 3-27 season and one that hadn't made the tourney in almost 8 years.
Ohio State
2019-20: 17-14, missed NCAA's. With how poor of a roster I had, I was forced to lean on my lone good player, my C. Pretty sure he won conference POTY for his efforts.
2020-21: 25-11, second round. I pulled in a pretty decent recruiting class that made an immediate impact, taking this team back to the tourney for the first time in a decade.
2021-22: 29-8 Elite Eight. I landed a stud 5* SF and 5* SG who both came in and started immediately. They both made immediate impacts, and I had a great team, but unfortunately we got beat by Florida 68-62 in the elite Eight when we just couldn't keep up with them from behind the arc.
2022-23: 35-4, National Champions. Everything came together this year. With an entire lineup full of former 5*'s, we had a great year, capped off with a 20 point win in the national championship game.
And 4 of my 5 starters are back for next year, with the lone defection at C being replaced by a guy who is just as good.
My 2023-24 squad:
PG Garry Kent, 6'0 180, Sr 85 ovr
SG Jared Palmer, 6'7 211, Jr 88 ovr
SF Aly Norman, 6'7 238, Sr 86
PF J.B. Gordon, 6'8 219, Jr 89 ovr
C Brennan Brittian, 7'0 245, Jr 81 ovr
Bench:
SG Rylan Dalgran, 6'4 213, Sr 84 ovr
PG Torin Hailey, 6'1 200, Jr 81 ovr
PF Jitim Chalmers, 6'10 236, So, 80 ovr
SF Christano Ngoundou, 6'4 209, So 79 ovr
PF Joaquim Kelly, 6'7 210, rFr 78 ovr
C Hyman Garlepp, 7'2 276, rFr 72 ovr
5* PG Nic Del Rosario, 6'0 171, 77 ovr
My career coaching stats to date:
Texas State: 43-18
Gonzaga: 89-13
Connecticut: 222-39
Ohio State: 106-37
Total: 460-107

Just updating this thread since it's fallen into the depths. Started a legacy last week at UC Davis using 2011 rosters. I only made the Tournament 3 times at UC Davis taking 10 years to get an offer from a Mid-Major school. Went on to ULM and made the Tournament 4 out of 6 years advancing to the Second Round one time.
Obtained my first major level job at Rhode Island making the NCAA Tournament 3 times out of 4 years after my first influx of recruits, leading me to take an opening at UCLA making 3 Final Fours and winning one Championship in 5 seasons. Now I sit at Pittsburgh having been bounced in the second round as a 1 seed last year. Just signed a 4 star JUCO Center, 7'1" named "Dusty Banjo". Will probably be here until forced retirement.
Edit: Pro-tip - To find good centers look at the 3 stars and find players who are 7 feet or taller with a B or better potential. They will almost always grow to 7'3" or 7'4" and dominate everyone around them.Comment

I'm 7-0 so far in 2023-24. I just beat #9 UCLA 61-48, it would've been worse, but I decided to run to the gym and quick-simmed the second half which made it closer than it actually was.Comment
