All-American
8 minute quarters
No slider adjustments
Michigan St. (me) 34 Northwestern (cpu) 14.
I'm just gonna give you guys the passing and rushing stats, since they're key.
Michigan St.
QB #8 11-20 141 1-0
HB #22 19-120
HB #4 11-27
FB #42 3-8
WR #82 1-17
6 other rushes
Northwestern
QB #7 22-38 298 2-0
HB #19 14-42
WR #3 3-13
11 other rushes
Offensive plays
Michigan State 60
Northwestern 66
Turnovers
Northwestern 2 (both fumbles)
Michigan St. 0 (one fumble, recovered it)
Penalties
Northwestern 1-9 (holding)
Michigan St. 0-0
I used "Gameflow" on offence. I kinda agree with EA on this one - way too much time is spent doing shit off the field.
I had no choice on D. Northwestern played no huddle all game.
PROS:
- Run blocking way better this year, especially on draws
- I enjoy playing the defensive camera that NCAA introduced last year
- CPU throws deep, a lot
- Speed differential (I didn't change the slider) seems more realistic this year.
CONS:
- At times, I found running too easy with my #1 HB, who eventually got injured and was pulled from the game. Maybe it was just the matchup itself. I don't know much about college football, to be honest.
- Fatigue: There doesn't appear to be a fatigue slider and I didn't think fatigue was a factor in this game at all.
- Penalties: 1 all game. Sliders will need adjusting big-time.
Not sure if I like the sportsmanship, skill pts. thing. I was up by 28 and throwing on 3rd and 4 ... and got docked 50 pts for "running up" the score. There was an entire quarter left - and college teams always run up the score.
Overall, it's just one game, so I am drawing no conclusions (other than the penalty sliders and fatigue).
Huh?
Edit: I get it now.
Yeah, I play NCAA 10 ... but on the PS3.
This year, both games on the 360. I just think the games look and play better on the 360.Last edited by dave; 07-13-2010, 01:06 PM.My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Few Questions....
Slants still money? i didnt run this pattern enough to know....EDIT, i will say this, when i did run slants it seemed like the DB were jamming my WR making it tough to get into pattern
Singleback option QB keeper still an easy 2-4 yards? i didnt run any QB runs aside from options
Can I fall forward with my HB after every tackle? momentum generally takes u forward, but there are times when the runner gets stood up or gets tackled laterally. But if your running up the field u will generally fall forward
Does the ball float like a feather after I get hit when I throw? no, i dont think it does. But i dont remember this being a issues for me last year. Ball seems to zip in there nicely
Are all QB's like Peyton Manning? I only played 2 games against Mich and GT. Both QB played terribly. over/under throws. Bad reads....GT guy made really bad reads. i had 4 picks against him which wasnt great cause i didnt make those plays, the CPU defenders did it for my team. I probably could of had 10 picks because he was making throws right to my DB's on the flip side, using pryor, i wasnt bad passing, but i wasnt great either. i was 50% in both games. both were in the wind, one was snow one was rain
thats all for now.
even if u play an OD u still have to play the cpu and who wants those games to suck. But my comments arent really about win/lose or even competitive play. I am more annoyed at the blocking i am seeing from the cpu.
there were times i was running cover 3 and cover 4 and they were up against a 4 man rush and would get stuffed for 3 yard losses. it was cause of missed blocks or just flat out not even touching a d-linemen.
there was 2 plays that stand out. GT was running triple option to the left against cover 4. My RE (left side) under cpu control, was nto touched after the snap, he stood there in a strafe position reading the option and just waited and as soon as the QB got near him him moved in and drilled him. What killed me was that nobody on offense even touched him or attempted to block him.Last edited by Maynard; 07-13-2010, 12:16 PM.Comment

guys were auto subbing out and when they werent i used different packages. One thing i noticed is as usual, the cpu doesnt use any package changes. They never have in ncaa or madden. part of 120 offenses should have included them using more than there starters especially in the backfield.
injuries were also an issue in both my games. Alot of guys were getting injured. This was the same last yearComment

In my 2nd game.
Syracuse (me) 24 Rutgers (cpu) 0
Again, default AA ... except for penalties.
I upped the sliders and they work.
10 penalties for Rutgers - 1 absolute killer
5 for Syracuse.
Will have to find a nice slider sweetspot for penalties, but the sliders work.
CPU struggled again with the run, but I suspect some slider work can take care of that.
I like how quickly you can get a game in under the new playcalling system. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

The biggest disappointment for me so far is the presentation.
You'd think with the ESPN overlays, there might be some improvement this year, but not at all.
Heck, there's not even a halftime show ... something that was in Madden last year.
And very few stat overlays ... wtf?
And why can't they bring back the player stats like they had them in NCAA 06 or 07 (forget which year) where you could see all the key player stats without having to scroll through them by category?
I miss Lee Corso too.
Presentation in NCAA 11 is a D at best.
So far, I'd give gameplay a B ... but it's too early to be overly judgmental. My Twitch video link: http://www.twitch.tv/dave374000

Me and a friend played against each other last night.First game i beat him 42-28 Minnesota(me) against USC.This was from the second game,Alabama(him) against Boise St(me). At halftime,he was up 28-3.I had pretty much given up because i suck on offense and can never mount a comeback.Somehow i did though, and this was the LAST play of the game which gave me the W with a score of 45-42.I scored 21 points in each of the last two quarters.User catch,too..:D
