I think everything should have an auto save except rosters. It is the easiest way to make a mistake that can take a very long time to redo (if you are not too exhausted from making the changes). I learned in Rock Band, which also has auto save, to back out every so oftern. If I make a mistake, I don't have to redo the whole thing I was working on (custom shirts)....same thing goes for ncaa fb & mlb the show.

the only time i like auto save is if their is a check point in the game.

but its funny because in OD mode i love that every move i make is instantly saved. i update my board, sliders, setting, depth chart...etc etc and as soon as i back out of the screen it is saved.

exactly. At first me and my buddy turned auto-save off because we thought it was annoying as shit. That was until there were 2 power outages in roughly 35 minutes which caused us to lose our weeks recruiting and a game played.

We have since turned it back on for fear of random power outages

FT, I know you are rolling with NIU...if you haven't started your dynasty, I'm going to be finishing the MAC rosters sometime today.

I basically took Carson's rosters and overhaul them.

The lower tiered schools have a lot of guys getting the shaft. I mean, first team All Conference types at a 70 OVR.

Guys like Brian Lainhart only a 70 OVR? Terrible. I've overhauled the MAC...if you want it FT, lemme know and I'll upload the file.

Basically, what I am doing to the rosters is, giving players who need upgrades, upgrades.

I'm going through Phil Steele's magazine and the CFN 2010 previews of each team in a smaller conference and upgrading players that need it plus adding players.

Examples to get an idea of what I am doing...

First Team All-Conference types are getting rated from the mid-80's to high-70's (depending on the team), second team All Conference types getting re-rated from the high 70's to the low 70's etc.

I'm doing NO DOWNGRADING. If the game has a guy rated high who Phil and CFN have rated as an HM teamer and he is rated a 78, so be it...this is really just to upgrade the talent that should be upgraded...I also think this helps out over the course of dynasty as these teams are better (albeit very slightly).

Also doing some roster adjustment based on scheme and preview depth charts (never truly accurate, but whatever) - Example - Kent State's defense...overhauled their DL and LB and moved guys around...Monte Simmons was a 60-something DE, but moved him to OLB as they play a 3-4 and is now rated in the mid-70s as a second team All-Conference type.

So...lets say Almondo Sewell of Akron...was a 60-something DE...because Akron is moving to a 43, moved him to DT and upgraded him to a 78 (he, and two other players are Akron's best players, but because Akron is the worst team, their best isn't quite as good as say...Temple's best.

Also, added some players...examples...some guys who got medical redshirts like Jake Coffman of NIU and Tyrone Pronty of BGSU or major transfers like Kenny Ashley of Ohio.

I'm doing this with the MAC, Sun Belt, and WAC (where the worst teams are and the conferences that get the least love from the makers)...otherwise, most of the stuff is taken care of by the roster makers.

Once I do that, I can start my dynasty.

I should be done today with everything. It isn't as hard as I thought going in. Doing complete overhauls of Miami, Western Kentucky, and Akron (the three teams I'll dynasty with this year at some point) took up most of my time, but now...I'm cruising.

I've decided I'm only plying Online Dynasties from now on, mainly ones where all users are in the same conference or split between two.

I just don't like playing the computer on this game. My biggest problem is that they flat out refuse to cover the slot wr consistently and overuse cornerback blitzes. If I had a dollar time the computer blitz their corners and left one of my wrs streaking down the field I'd buy EA and fire whoever programmed that.

                  lol cb blitzes

I'm just gonna wait for the patch to come out and maybe people to come up with better sliders before I mess with an offline dynasty again. Until then online games or OD only.

there are 2 things really starting to annoy the fuck out of me.
the onside kicks by the CPU. WTF? when they do an onside they are automatic 9 out of 10 times. no BS. i am just gonna super sim these and hope i get them because i have no ability to get the ball. the kick will bounce off the 1st guy it touches on my team and the cpu gets it.

the other thing is the polls. this i dont get at all. I posted before how i dropped to #2. Well i took back the #1 spot only to have stanford jump me again. Now after ripping Northwestern i drop from from 2 to 3. Arkansas and Stanford each jumped me with wins over a top 15 team. But so far i have played 4 top 20 teams and i have 2 more this season. There is no logic to it. i have the better team, i have beaten better teams, i am the defending champ and have 6 star prestige. This last drop to #3 came from Arkansas beating S Carolina and jumping from #3 to #1. jumping both #1 stanford and me at #2

and once the BCS poll comes out, the media and coach poll follow the bcs poll

this game is starting to run its course for me. EA can make all its improvements and polish things up to make it pretty, but at the end of the day its still an EA Sports Football game and nothing can stop the annoyances from eventually taking over.

Yeah you just have to find your niche. Like I said a few posts above mine is Online Dynasties and user-user games.

Playing the computer is too frustrating and stale. There's not enough difference between teams (virtually no difference from team to team on defense). The only pronounced differences are between teams like Georgia Tech (fwiw though cpu teams cannot run the option) and Texas Tech. Once you figure out the games flaws and shortcomings it's just exploiting the same holes again and again.

It's maddening because for every one area EA improves, they take a step back in another. They're just unable to put out a complete, polished product. I'm still having fun with NCAA but my time is relegated to only one game mode really, and it's turned me off from buying Madden. It's not a bad game by any means, it's just a typical EA product.

Feeling just like KP sadly .. I've had some really entertaining games online, even against cheeseball douchers. The CPU just drives me fucking insane with it's stupidity.

I should add that it's always been this way, and that didn't stop a few versions from being very fun. I played 2004 and 2006 on Ps2 more than I would care to admit. Up until this year the game has been trash on next gen .. this one is definitely an improvement, but still not quite there IMO. I don't think I'm ever going to really like they game again until they change the actual physics of the gameplay.

I haven't played enough actual games to see a lot of the things you are all seeing...however, what I have seen, it is nothing that a patch can't fix...if they actually decide to fix it.

                              The game isn't far off.

Okay, I was wondering if that was just me having games of my life against GTech. They are just pathetic at running it, I held them to like 40 yards rushing with FSU.
