There is of course no way to verify the select screen at this time. If you're working on the assumption that it is real, though, or even if you only want it to be real, here are the characters listed as they appear in the image above:

Sindel - Ermac - Reptile - Kitana

Johnny Cage - Jade - Mileena - Nightwolf

Cyrax - Noob Saibot - Smoke - Sektor

Well, they're all from the Lin Kuei clan. But, word is Sub-Zero is captured this time and automated, instead of Smoke, who was captured and automated in MK3.

Sektor and Cyrax volunteered to be automated, while Sub Zero and Smoke fled. In the clan it's against their rules to disband or w/e. So Cyrax and Sektor have been after the two for automation for a while.

Looks like Warner Bros. is requiring an online pass for this.

Mortal Kombat, available on April 19 for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, includes a one-time-use registration code that gives players access to all online modes in the game. Players who do not have a code will get a free two-day trial of the online play and then be able to purchase the online modes for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Marketplace and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network.

I can't say I'm surprised. Although the two day free trial is a fucking joke. Most games that do this give you a week.

I know this thread has been going on a while but I haven't seen it mentioned. Does anyone else think the graphics look pretty mediocre? The game has been in development for a good while yet the graphics don't seem to look much better than DC vs MK.

About the online pass... I'm starting to wonder who decides the 7 day trial vs 2 day aka 48hr trial. Madden, NHL and NCAA all had a 7 day trial, and then Dead Space 2, and NFS Hot Pursuit(I believe, not sure on this one though) had a 48hr.

And I have to agree. Kratos looks so well implemented. And probably the only logical character for the game to bring in from another franchise/series.

I didn't realize NFS and Dead Space only had 2 day trials. I knew all of the other EA sports games were seven and I know THQ seems to do a week also, except with Homefront they just let you play to level 5.

And LOL at Avatar support for min-games. Avatars don't belong anywhere near a MK game. Mini-games or not.

MS won't allow that as far as I know. They have a strict policy regarding the avatars. They won't even allow them to hold any sort of weapon. But of course they love to break their own rules when it involves getting buckets of cash, ala the light saber avatar prop.

All the PS3 fanboys are butthurt that the 360 gets those and you're such a huge fanboy that you act like the PS3 didn't just get the shit-end..

This again? I'm not a fanboy. Even Tengo, who only has a 360, thinks Kratos is better. Kratos plus his own stage is far greater than avatar support for mini-games and some no-name character. You're entitled to your opinion but I think you're delusional if you think the 360 is getting the better in-game stuff.

BTW, I'm playing Crysis 2 on my XBOX 360 as I type this.
