Each character will be released individually this summer. Warner Bros. Interactive told IGN that a "compatibility pack" will accompany each release so that players who do not purchase the DLC will still be able to see online opponents using the DLC. These packs will be free and come with two skins (the first pack contains Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3-inspired Cyrax and Sektor). If you straight up buy the character DLC, you get the free skins as well.

Nice, looking forward to the new cyborg skins more than Skarlet. Any guesses on who the mystery DLC fighter will be? A couple people I were thinking of were Shinnok to round out the big bad guys of the series or Bo'Rai Cho. He was mentioned in story mode as Liu Kang's trainer so that popped into my head.

I'm really looking forward to Rain, I've been bouncing back and forth with different fighters lately, I gotta find somebody I want to really stick with and Scorpion is way too easy IMO, I already know basically everything he can do and too many people use him. I've been getting better with Raiden, Kung Lao, Cyber Sub-Zero and Smoke, but I'm hoping that Rain is fun to use.

Pretty sure everybody will be... I hear that you can d/l a update that let's you see when opponents pick a DLC character, and new Cyrax and Sektor costumes come with that. Hopefully those smoke and Noob costumes come with Rain, that would be an awesome pack
