    Argue the refs?

Also heard that this can lead to 2 mins of unsportsmanlike conduct, or potentially helping you draw a penalty later on. That's rumour tho.

sounds sim and adds an extra layer of strategy which you can choose to use or not.

way to focus on arguing with refs and making sticks break as opposed to gameplay issues.

Who are you? But yeah, I "don't know hockey" because I say that NHL 10 needs improvement...that makes sense.

I agree with this. I'm not going to argue with a ref if it means I'll probably get a penalty, and I really don't care if my stick breaks. I'm not going to be like "OMG BROKEN STICKS!!! I AM SO GETTING THIS GAME".

I can just see it being like 80/20 in favor of getting a penatly when you argue with the ref.
All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.

                  "rammer" and "cummings"

The NHL series is a giver, Madden takes the load.

Yeah as I said previously, I hope they don't focus on new additions so much that they ignore correcting the current issues.

That's what happened to Madden. They kept trying to add dumb ass shit instead of just fixing the fucked up shit and the entire franchise went to shit.

I'll more then likely never use this because 95% of the time you're just going to get a penalty/it will have no effect on the refs decision.

being a hockey ref i wanted to comment on a ref's thought process and why i dont mind this idea as much as i thought i would. if this is implemented correctly (and i hope to god they talked to actual refs about this), i could see it working well. When a player argues with a ref, 99.9% of the time the ref will not change his call, even if he knows he's wrong. If he is wrong, odds are he wont call unsportsmanlike, you cant add another penalty when u already screwed up once. if the ref is right and the player is relentless the ref often gives the extra 2 mins. when a ref fucks up usually there is a makeup call somewhere down the way. bad tripping call? might see a minor hooking call the other way. refs remember when they screw up, especially when you tell them. you may not even know it, but generally the call gets made up. so if u argue with the ref in this game, if u get away without a penalty, i would imagine it would help ur team get a powerplay later. this could either be completely worthless (very typical EA) or work really well (typical EA Canada). we'll see what happens, but im ok with this addition.
