Sony would have to pay EA a shit-ton just to keep the company from leaving with the EA Sports license.

What i mean by the question is that EA Sports wouldnt have to worry about making a game that suits 2 consoles (excluding the Wii). They could have focused on ONE console instead of two. And given if it was PS3, the potential would be so much higher. And if they didnt have the NFL license, it would have made for even better improvements gameplay wise with 2k, maybe even Gameday taking huge strides forward.

Unlikely.
Two consoles is not the reason Madden has sucked next-gen.
They always develop 360 first and give their best effort (Ian and those guys have a heart of gold and try their hardest).
But at the end of the day, average is average, and that's all Madden has been.
It's not a console issue, it's just an issue.

When EA Sports first secured the exclusive NFL license, I said there were two ways they could go with it: use all of these new things available to them to create the greatest NFL game of all-time, or just get by with sub-par versions of the game, cutting costs and shutting out their competition, effectively creating a monopoly.

Unfortunately, they went with the latter. Madden will not get better until a serious contender arrives.

That is my point, everyone is in agreement that the PS3 is the superior hardware, their discs can hold more than an Xbox disc, so basically the PS3 Disc is not using to its fullest capacity, while the xbox disc is. If The xbox was never around, and the PS3 was the same as it is today, they could have had a better graphics engine, better physics engine (if not that better animations at least), deeper everything.

I remember Madden Franchise Mode comas that lasted months at a time. It got to the point where I played so many seasons that everyone in the league was just random mfers from the drafts, and I kept playing that shit anyways.... I miss those days.
